...INTRODUCTION Employee Satisfaction can be defined as how an employee is happy at his work place which can be shown by his loyalty and commitment towards the organization. Job satisfaction is about the feeling of the nature of the job. Employee Satisfaction is very important in an organization because it is what productivity depends on. An organization with more satisfied employees tends to be more effective (Robbins & Judge, 2007). Another major impact that job satisfaction can have is worker’s commitment to the organization and its culture. Customer satisfaction can be defined as how a customer is happy or agrees to purchase the product and services again, shown by his loyalty and commitment towards the product and services offered by the organization. Customer satisfaction is a mental state which results from the customer’s comparison of a) expectations prior to a purchase with b) performance perceptions after a purchase. It has been argued that behavior of satisfied employees plays an important role in shaping customers' perceptions of business interactions (Spiro and Weitz, 1990). This phenomenon may occur as satisfied employees are more apt to be friendly, enthusiastic, attentive, and empathetic toward customers (Beatty et al., 1996; Rafaeli, 1993). According to the concept of partner effects, a person is in some way, verbally or nonverbally, influenced by the characteristics and behaviors displayed by his or her counterpart (Dolen et al., 2002). ... TOPIC: employees satisfaction Introduction The employee satisfaction concept always forms part in the management framework, that is, even in the traditional approach of management, but, the clue is how the employee satisfaction concept has evolved from the traditional to our “modern” management system. This is the question instead. Employee satisfaction is the terminology used to describe whether employees are happy and contented in fulfilling their desires and needs at work. Many measures purported that employee satisfaction is a factor in employee motivation, employee goal achievement and so forth. Now, when we are alluding to traditional management, it is clear that we are in alignment with, first, scientific management brought out by Frederic Taylor who was the first or pioneer in structuring scientific principles in management, in fact his research was based upon ancient unstructured practice of management, for example times when big structures like pyramids in Egypt were build which requisite a management and organisational notions and there was the code of Hammurabi, thus this was the root of management or simply when management really was born. Secondly, management evolved in 1941 by a French industrialist, Henri Fayol, he brought the classical administration approach and elements like authority, division of labour, command, direction, order, esprit de corp and so forth. Now we grasp the definition of employee satisfaction and the aspect of...

...Employee satisfaction and engagement City College Employee satisfaction and engagement Introduction “The game of basketball has been everything to me. My place of refuge, place I've always gone where I needed comfort and peace. It's been the site of intense pain and the most intense feelings of joy and satisfaction. It's a relationship that has evolved over time, given me the greatest respect and love for the game.” Michael Jordan The most important asset of an organization is not the building, the equipment, the offices around the world, nor the beautiful desk on the presidential office. The most important asset in any organization is the EMPLOYEE base. The employees are tangible assets that organizations need to invest time and money in because without them the organization does not go anywhere. In order to appreciate the most important asset the organization has to meet two important requirements, employee satisfaction and engagement. When I talk about satisfaction I mean the fulfillment of employee’s wishes, expectations, and personal needs. The engagement portion occurs when the employee is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about, his or her work. But how can the organization achieve these important goals? They need to transform the organization from a place of dissatisfaction and disengagement into a place of opportunity whereby the employee feels there is peace, comfort, joy and long-lasting relationships. A leader of an organization...

The correlation between the two is obvious. If employees are satisfied with their job, the turnover rate will be lower than that of a company with unhappy employees. Malik, a new manager to a company, witnessed how an unsatisfied employee could be a potential loss of an asset. On Malik’s first day at his new job he was approached by one his new employees who was in distress. She came to him expressing how exhausted and frustrated she was with her job and that she planned to quit soon, despite being one of the organizations top performing employees. The employee told Malik that the workload was inconsistent. Ultimately, the employee felt overworked and the organizations shows a lack of challenge and skill enhancement for the employees. (Stewart & Brown, p.394) The concerns of this employee are the concerns of many employees from companies and organizations world wide. Employee satisfaction is the terminology used to describe whether employees are happy and are fulfilling their desires and needs at work. Factors contributing to employee satisfaction include treating employees with respect, providing regular employee recognition, empowering employees, offering above industry-average benefits and compensation, providing employee perks and company activities, and positive management within a success framework...
