Employee Training and Career Development * Employee training and career development are the common most elements used within a company. When an employee is hire within the company, the employee needs to be trained in the way the company conducts their business. As an employee continues within a company, one has the option of using career development to help enhance their career. This paper will discuss the role of training in an organization’s development, the difference employee development methods and their benefits, the relationship between employee development and organizational development, the role of human resource management in career development, and a reflection of this authors’ career development.
Role of Training * When it comes to the role of training an employee first needs to adapt to their new environment. The training to done in a way so that the new employee can familiarize themselves with the rules, regulations, and goals of the organization, department, and work unit. It is also used to help employees maximize their potential and enhance employee’s qualities. Training is used to make changes in employees to help improve job performance. This involves the changing of behavior, knowledge, attitudes, and skills. In order to develop an organization must change what an employee knows, how they work, and even their attitudes toward their jobs, coworkers, manages, and the organization. In a way, training focuses on individual’s current jobs to help them enhance specific skills and abilities in order to perform their jobs (DeCenzo & Robbins, 2007). * Employee Development Methods * Employee development methods techniques that can be developed while on the job.
