El libro aborda contenido muy interesante debido que nos ayuda a comprender más la situación actual de las empresas, es importante aclarar que es un reto para los nuevos líderes y gerentes asumir un cambio en la percepción del manejo de una compañía, es un reto que deben de asumir en el cambio de estructuras, procesos y acciones que se tomen en la compañía.
La historia del libro se desarrolla con Marvin un gerente que nota que su estrategia para dirigir su compañía no tiene el éxito esperado y a raíz de esto busca la ayuda de Sandy unas gerente triunfante que hace las cosas diferentes y que lo orienta en el nuevo método de Gerenciar una compañía.
Los 3 puntos claves del empowerment según el libro son.
1 Compartir información con todos
2 Crear autonomía por medio de fronteras
3 Remplazar la jerarquía con equipos autodirigidos.
Compartir la información se refiere a que la información debe de bajar no se debe de quedar en la gerencia, todos deben de tener acceso a ella puesto que esto conlleva a que los empelados tomen decisiones adecuadas para mejorar su área, si se tiene la información se va a actuar de manera mas responsable, es hacer que cada empleado se sienta el dueño de su propio trabajo y área, afianzando los niveles de confianza entre empleador y empleado.
Crear autonomía por medio de fronteras se refiere a que cuando se baja la información a los empleados , esto puede causar traumatismos y confusiones en ellos debido que no se ha estado acostumbrado a trabajar bajo esta modalidad es allí en donde se debe de involucrar a los colaboradores a redefinir los valores, metas, propósitos, papeles , imagen de la compañía, esto implica que se trabaje en equipo por una meta en común, en donde todos visualicen su aporte n y lo crean importante para la compañía.
Remplazar la jerarquía con equipos autodirigidos es hacer que se trabaje en equipo que se cree responsabilidades en el interior de la compañía, que cada uno se sienta participe y dueño de su trabajo siempre de al mano del otro y no de forma aislada.
En general el empowerment da herramientas para que los empleados se sientan que tienen autonomía dentro de su área de responsabilidad, generando involucramiento para el cumplimiento de metas en común, aceptando la responsabilidad por sus funciones y tareas.
