Section 1.1 -Higher education

I started my APN programme in Jan 2011. I completed my two semesters successfully with good grades. Now I am in my 3 rd. semester with adv. pathophysiology and theoretical foundation. I get the financial support from the Cohort program. My managers are totally supportive for all my needs in order to succeed in my education. I continue to strive for the achievement of this degree and pursue my education further.
Section1. 2 –JCAHO EDUCATOR
I involved as a JCAHO educator for the night nurses. Karol and me, involves our group, providesJCAHO topics on JCAHO board provides in the unit. We do educate the staffs who need more knowledge in relation to any JCAHO topics particularly. We educate and act as resources for the students, new graduates and our new employees. We also create questions on different JCAHO topics and evaluated the staff knowledge by asking questions. We re-educated them on JCAHO where we find a knowledge deficit in them. We also rewarded in a small measure that has the knowledge on the topic when we test them. To be frank, I was not very consistent in doing this due to busy patient assignments, charge nurse duty and over load of my studies. But I am planning to take the same responsibility and plan in advance and educate the staff and support the leadership team effectively for the smooth running of the unit.
SECTION 2
1. Transformational leadership.
I took the responsibility as a charge nurse for the last couple of years now. As a charge nurse, demonstrates superior leadership skills in the area of prioritizing, delegation, assignment making, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication. I make visual contacts with all Night staff, determine appropriateness of assignments, and make adjustments as necessary, proactive problem solving. For staffs that are floating, assign a resource person on their pod, activate their name in the pyxis system. Check the assignment sheet for the next day against the schedule for accuracy

In the American Heritage College dictionary fourth edition, it is a noun of the word “empower”, they describe it as “1.to invest with power esp. legal power or official authority, and 2.
