Enculturation Of Kennesaw State University Students: A Reflective Study

This study is used to show the process of enculturation of Kennesaw State University students who were born and raised in another culture were examined in this study. The introduction will explain some background information on the topic. These literature reviews will highlight some aspects, peer involvement and maintaining original culture traditions, that are spoken on in my study. The methods section will touch on other aspects of my study. It will elaborate on who my participants were, they study I conducted, and how it was conducted. The results section will speak on the results of my study; what I found from the answers given by my participants. The final section will be the discussion which will discuss the interpretations of my study.
Enculturation is the process by which individuals learn and adopt the ways and manners of their specific culture, (Matsumoto & Juang, 2013). The enculturation process usually begins at birth; with the child learning the ways of its culture. Enculturation can also be in from of moving from one place to another and having to learn the new ways and manners of the culture one is now in. Since there are so many, it can be overwhelming for someone from another culture to experience it all. This is exactly what I predicted. Sometimes it is hard for me to keep up with everything, and I have lived here my entire life. My findings fit into my previous research by showing how friends and those around you, definitely have an impact on the enculturation process.
