In my opinion, our culture is being impacted in a harmful way with the amount of time people spend using social networking sites and the internet, it appears to be a factor in the rising obesity problem our nation is experiencing. According to the YouTube video, Oct 23, 2011, , “The Social Media Revolution 2013”, Americans are spending over 15 hours a week or more in some cases, on-line using social networking sites to communicate with family, friends, and acquaintances. This reduces the time we are spending exercising and engaging in physical activities for physical health.
