In today's world, children ,as young social individuals can't protect themselves as much as adults. Therefore, they have been faced with many difficulties in their lives such as abuse, illiteracy or violence. Especially in this decade, violence against children is poisoning children's bright future, so it is necessary for us to analyze the causes of violence on children such as living conditions, prior victimization and psychological problems.
First of all, many people, mostly parents hurt children owing to their poor living conditions.Poverty makes them feel weak and also make them look someone as the responsible of their poverty. For example,while a family has serious financial problems, they start to feel stressed. Consequently, when they get mad, they can easily hurt their children as an anger reaction, whereas, their children are innocent.
Secondly, prior victimization in children'slives lead to violence against them. If a child was suffering from abuse or bullying,he can easily be a target of violence. For instance, people who have mental problems usually got abused by adults in their childhood. These damages made them open to any assault.
Finally, low self-worth as a characteristic feature is a reason for low self-esteem and someone who has low self-esteem feels like he has to take it out on children. As a result, once again children have to encounter violence as victims. What is more, drug or alcohol abuse are also reasons of inflicting violence on children. These bad habits make people lose their self-control and hurt kids.
In brief, we should consider that poor living conditions, abuse, bullying or psychological problems as the source of violence against children and we should try to find out how can we prevent the violence.
