...INTRODUCTION After surveying the current car washing market, we saw the need to satisfy the prestige of the esteemed customers who require a classy and quick car wash. Since setting up a permanent car washing facility would limit our customers, we came up with Ganton Car Washers. This is a mobile car washing facility fully automatic and able to move from one place to another. Our facility can service up to 5 cars before re-filling our water supply. Most of our equipment would be imported from the main manufacturing company in Japan since they are not locally produced and assembled here in Kenya. As a start up strategy we would start with 5 mobile car washing facilities spread out in Nairobi and its environs. The small number of cars invested in would be used to study the market to see how the potential customers receive the business. The best area to set up the headquarters is a place that is full of potential customers and easily accessible thus Upper Hill seems to be the best fit. This is mainly where the calls will be received and redirected to our drivers who are on standby. Our services will mostly be door to door whereby we come to you. Once at your location all you have to do is drive into the back of our cleaning facility. Sensors tell the type of car we are handling then the cleaning begins. MARKET Our target market will be mostly posh areas where it is hard to access a quick and decent car wash, also offices and parking lots. Since most of these people drive long...

...Following the rapid accumulation of foreign exchange reserves in recent months, there has been a growing interest in Bangladesh on the alternative uses of its reserves. However, different reserves adequacy measures based on global best practices confirm that its reserves holding is not markedly higher than what is required. The country’s reserves stand higher than the adequate level only when one considers the current account aspects of reserves benchmark which is perhaps appropriate for the country as its financial system is still autarkic. The dynamics in its balance of payments account also supports the fact. The paper highlights the fact that Bangladesh’s reserves build-up is the result of an ‘investment drought’ in the country. This is partly due to its underdeveloped financial systems, and partly due to other structural problems in the economy – entailing difficulties in properly channelling national savings to investments. As the Bangladesh central bank’s sterilised intervention increases, so will its cost of reserves accumulation. The reason is the interest rate arbitrage between Bangladesh and the United States. The United States government securities market, that absorbs the lion’s share of developing economies reserves, has been offering lower yields following the collapse in interest rate in the country in recent times. Nevertheless, the apparent spread between the United States Treasury and Bangladesh Treasury rates might be not that high in real terms if one weighs...

Youth Enterpreneurship

...If society and economics are to be revitalized by youth entrepreneurship, we have to start with instilling in youths the right mentality. Youth should never start with money-oriented mindset in endeavoring to be entrepreneurs. It is easy to make money but it is difficult to make money yet make a real social impact at the same time. Youths should never start with the question ‘to make money, what business should I do?’ This will plunge society into a worsen situation. Instead, the right question should be ‘I really hate this aspect of society. How could I get rid of this problem by turning this into a business model that is self-sustaining?’ Our current societal problems lie with our education not preparing youths to look beyond money and to define their meaningful life. How do we all justify our existence? What makes our life meaningful? Our conventional thinking is money is almost everything. Being an entrepreneur is about meeting not just our physical needs but also our soul needs. Look at America, the money-priority business models have plunged America into a divided society leaving the Government with little power to make changes. In its wake of gun ramping fatality, the Government could not revamp the law to prevent its citizens from owning heavy machine and high-tech guns. What hope is in there for America if they cannot even make laws to make people safer against gun industry lobbyists? Looking at successful business corporations, their business visions are more than just...

Women Enterpreneurship

...WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND EDUCATION Introduction The domain of entrepreneurship education is now faced with ever more interesting choices about what to be, who to serve and from what principles to profess. Opportunities and challenges in teaching and training related to globalization, technology, political organization and shifting demographics and social views have created entirely new understandings of what is important and where attention should be directed. Entrepreneurship is exciting and valued and most agree that while academics and others can’t help every person to be an entrepreneur, but can help those who are interested with tools, skill acquisition and ideas. The emergence and growth of women-owned businesses have contributed to the global economy and to their surrounding communities. The presence of women around the world driving small and entrepreneurial organizations has had a tremendous impact on employment and on business environments worldwide. Women-owned firms comprise between one-quarter and one-third of all the businesses in the formal economy, and are expected to play an even larger role in informal sectors (Delaney, 2002). Entrepreneurship refers to an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action. It includes creativity, innovation and risk taking, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects in order to achieve objectives. To achieve success, growth and employment, we need to stimulate the entrepreneurial mindsets of young women, encourage...

...Abstract Innovation can be defined as, “something new or different introduced” or, “introduction of new things or methods” (Innovation, 2013). Innovation; however, can mean various things to various individuals. For individuals in the business scene, innovation can be seen as transforming a financial worth for consumers, opportunity that can lead to employment, or improving something that is already in existence. One must keep in mind that if innovation didn’t exist, businesses would fall apart. Viagra and Innovation There have been several instances where businesses and individuals have purposely wanted to create innovative products. There have also been several instances when businesses and individuals try to make one specific product, and accidentally create something way different. This is an example of innovation. There are a lot of innovative products that have been brought to the market over the past few decades. Some examples are: digital cameras, the Internet, and MP3 players. The product that I have chosen that in my opinion was an accidental innovative product as well as a miracle product for several men in Viagra. I believe that this product was discovered accidentally because Viagra was actually intended for treating high blood pressure, and it was discovered to help treat men that had E.D. It enabled men to have more control of their sex lives with the aid of a small blue pill. If this is not considered innovation, then what...

...American InterContinental University MGMT422-1301A-01: Professor William Becker February 12, 2013 Innovation is defined as, “something new or different introduced” or, “introduction of new things or methods” (Innovation, 2013). Innovation may be interpreted differently from one person to the next. With individuals that do business, innovation can be interpreted as converting thoughts into capital, making financial worth for consumers, favorable circumstances which can make jobs, or upgrading something that presently exists. One must keep in mind that if innovation did not exist, business as we know it could fall apart. There are several innovative things that have been popularized over the past few decades. To name a few, there are: digital cameras, the Internet, and the Nintendo Wii. I have decided to discuss Viagra because I think this was an accident as well as a miracle for certain individuals with E.D. The reason I say that this medication was found by accident is because it was originally intended for high blood pressure patients, but it was discovered to be very helpful to males that had E.D. It enabled men to take back control of their sex lives with the aid of a little blue pill (Parnham, 2004). If this is not considered innovation, then what is? When the primary clinical trials happened, Viagra didn’t have a lot of effect on patients with hypertension; however, it gave males an erection. When the second clinical trial took place, they chose to keep...
