October 17, 2014 Its a rainy sunday morning and i am with my cousin at his friends place who is an entrepreneur, eagerly waiting to interview this person as my cousin had already told me that he was just about 20 years old now and had set up a business on his own at a very young age he seemed to have been all set in this diversified field of business . Nabeel lives on his own terms - he says “I wanted to work for myself and wanted to have freedom.” Nabeel Afsar is the owner of Dr. Tech Cell Phone Repair because of his inspiration, his uncle, who also is an entrepreneur. Another factor that inspired him to become an entrepreneur was his desire to work for himself under his own terms and conditions and wanted to have his own schedule and wanted to work for himself and earn money by himself rather then working for a company . With no experience in entrepreneurship, he started his own business last year at a young age of 19 while taking online business courses at DuPage University. With a knack for fixing electronics, Nabeel’s company falls into the category of electronic repairs. This business is in the growing business sector because of the increase in technology usage and technological advancements. Therefore, it provides custom oriented reliable electronic repairs. They fix cracked screens or any other issues devices may have. Along with the renovation of electronics, the business provides their customers with phone accessories like chargers and cases. Additionally, it also vendors smartphones at low prices. In his own words “starting a business is not as easy as it sounds: it takes time and hard work.” To start his business, it took him about six months to just find a location and spread the word out through marketing and promoting with various strategies.
