1. Determine how Five Guys’ philosophy set it apart from other fast-food chains.

In a world full of business competition , when a business comes into fruition, it needs to find a way that sets them aside from the competitors. Five guys from the beginning, their philosophy was to keep it simple with a small town feel and use high quality foods. They use all fresh meat, not frozen, cook their foods in peanut oil and the food is made while you wait. Unlike their competitors, they grill their burgers versus using a microwave and no use any of chemical substitutions to lower the calories. As part of their business plan, they have kept everything from their décor to the way the food is cooked, mirroring in each location. Consistency is one of their key factors for success. According to the owners, there are 250,000 ways to have a burger with all the different freshly made toppings. They do not deviate from burgers and fries by choosing not to add other foods to the menu . They have simple beliefs and do not invest much money in advertising or commercial ads. Their values are based on satisfying the customer and employees and serving the best food as they can reinvest the money into the good quality food they buy.

2 Analyze the original values for the start-up company and how it remains strong today.

When their first son decided not to go college, they decided a way to keep their son home and employed . Unable to get any bank funding, they used the dedicated tuition fund as a resource to venture into business. With the capitol they had and a business plan in hand, they purchased their inventory and rented an affordable space. Their main goal was to cook juicy burgers that were made fresh not frozen.
