“There is a window in my attic, where I have gone so many times,” sang young Rose, listening to her favorite song that was on her ipod. Now Rose was not a regular little girl. Her hair had a black/blue tinge to it and she had rose-colored eyes. She had a cat named Lightning, since he had a white underbelly and white paws, the rest of him was a stormy black with spots of white which made him look gray. “Rose!” her father called. “Just a minute!” Rose replied, ripping her earphones out of her ears and stashing them in their safe spot. Just as she was going out her room door, she remembered that she needed to get her notebook. This notebook was the first one she had ever owned. She had to always put new pages in it so that she could keep …show more content…
The village had little huts for its occupants to live in; the huts did not look like huts because they were carved out of the side of a cliff. The village was called SideStone, seeing as the inhabitants lived in stone. SideStone was a good sturdy little village for them to live in. Everyone knew everyone and everything that happened was not missed by the village gossiper, Juniper. Juniper, at age 12, was considered to have magic powers; none dared to upset her because it was rumored she would make a bad deed fall upon those who crossed her. Last time someone got on her bad side, they came back without knowing anything and had these huge black and blue marks with huge bubbly welts on the side of their …show more content…
Harvey smiled and then told the class, “Social Studies! I have been waiting for this moment since the beginning of school!” The class groaned audibly, wishing that it was the end of the day. Usually, the thing that Mrs. Harvey is excited about is not something that is even remotely exciting. Fortunately, this time it was quite intriguing. ‘The village once had a sorcerer who hated the power she possessed so she used it for evil instead of putting it to good use. Her actions were the worst for those she used them on. One time, she turned a family into fiery metal dragons, never for them to come out of their metal cage. Then, her anger grew to a point that she took the dragons in a secret lair and tried to kill herself, only to make her powers grow. While all of this was going on, one of the dragons was pregnant before she was turned into a dragon. She had a baby and to her surprise, the baby was a human, not only was she a human but she was in the secret lair which made her the next town

Epilogue To Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

...Jisung stood awfully close to the glass that separates him and the creature. He stared at the red-orange furred animal, and it stared right back. When the creature starts wagging it's tail, he grins in excitement and unconsciously starts bouncing on his heels while leaning closer to the glass. Later, he feels hands firmly holding him on his shoulders and looks up, the grin never leaving his face. "Appa!" His father laughs at his adorable, squeaky voice; his signature eye smile showing. "Hi, kiddo. What're you doing?" The man asks, crouching to meet his beloved son's eye level. "He just told me his name!" Jisung squeals while pointing at the creature, and Jimin looks over at him. "Oh really? What is it?" Jimin asks, eyes not leaving the fox. "It's Mino!" "Mino.." "Appa, can we let him out? He said he's sad because he misses his family.." The boy pouts cutely, and Jimin chuckles, gently stroking his hair. "Sorry, buddy. But we can't do that. What if Mr. Police comes and catch us? You don't want that, do you?" Jisung shakes his head vigorously, and Jimin smiles. He looks back at the fox who's staring at him, and his smile turns into a sad one. Sorry, buddy. Good luck. The fox looks away, it's ears drooping. "Jisungie!" "Taetae samchon!" The two's loud voice pulled Jimin out from his trance and he looks over to see his best friend, picking up his child and spinning him around. "Aigoo~ Who's my favorite nephew~?" "Samchon, I'm your only nephew." Jimin smiles at their interaction...

Epilogue To Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

...I once met a big ugly creature. It weighed 100 pounds, and it was 100 feet tall. The creature chased me all around the woods. I ran and ran until I was out of breath. When I got home, it was dark, but the creature was behind me! I got in and locked the door and I was safe. Then the creature somehow disappeared! The next morning, I didn’t want go outside because I thought the creature was somewhere around my house. I was right! When I went outside, the creature was waiting for me. The creature grabbed me and threw me on the ground. It disappeared again! That afternoon, I found many creatures in a cave. I hid beside a rock so the creatures would not see me. Splice

...Jake’s preserved sense of morality and his ability to sympathize with the other characters that give him his sense of humanity. However, in Vincenzo Natali’s Splice (2009), the victory does not lie with the most human characters, but rather with the dehumanizing corporation, which threatens to recreate all of humanity in its likeness. Natali argues that the creation of Dren (Delphine Chanéac) represents the future of humanity in the sense that humans are becoming creatures with equal parts human and technological – a shift that threatens to change society’s perception of what is “human”. Splice is in many ways a modern retelling of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus – a point highlighted by Natali’s choice to name the protagonists Clive and Elsa; a direct homage to the stars of James Whale’s The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Colin Clive and Elsa Lanchester. In the...
