Dear Miss Wheeler,
I’m really looking forward to taking this class this semester, I feel like I’m going to be learning a lot and I feel as if I can get closer then you then I could to most of my past English teachers due to all of the students that they had. I don’t think that I should be in this class, but I understand why I’m in it. I didn’t do too well on my placement test because I rushed through it during orientation but I’m looking forward to taking this course so I can better my writing skills. In this letter I will be discussing my background, my past English class and my writing skills. I was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio and have been going to school there for the past 12 years. I’m 18 years of age, lived with my sister father and mother until parents got divorced. My mom remarried about 2 years ago, so before I left for school I lived with my mother and step dad. My sister is 20 and attends The University of Cincinnati. I’m more of a friends person then a family person, I’m just not really close to family that much. I don’t really have a special talent, I played softball and tennis in high school, and was in a couple of clubs one that I cared for a lot was called SGORR. Student Group On Race Relations, we met up after school and talked about racism and went into 4th-7th grade class rooms and did activities with the students that dealt with discrimination, and racism and that was really fun to do. I like kids and I like to travel haven’t really had the chance to but in the future hopefully I will. My intended major is nursing, my mother is a nurse so it was just inevitable for me to be one too. My senior English class was called social issues and was more of a discussion class which I was really comfortable about. I really enjoyed the class, the conversations got pretty deep and seeing other aspects and hearing other people’s opinions on
