Celie's hardship journey throughout the novel “The Color Purple” has similar attributes as the ones in the novel by Harper Lee, “To Kill A Mockingbird”. Both of the female protagonists have similar personalities. They learn to be strong for themselves and other people. “The Color Purple” and “ To Kill A Mockingbird” both have dynamic characters that have similar ways of becoming stronger as a person and becoming a better human being. One of the major similarities between both the novels is the setting the books are in.
