...In this short essay I define an experientially-based concept of God that can be shown to exist. I hope that others will find this idea as powerful and rewarding as I do. First, we will specify the domain or scope of the concept of Universe. R. Buckminster Fuller wrote a definition of Universe (Synergetics, Macmillan Publishing Co., 1975, p.81) that adequately delimits our problem-solving space: Universe is the aggregate of all humanity's consciously apprehended and communicated nonsimultaneous and only partially overlapping experiences. Aggregate means sum-totally but nonunitarily conceptual as of any one moment. Consciousness means an awareness of otherness. Apprehension means information furnished by those wave frequencies tunable within man's limited sensorial spectrum. Communicated means informing self or others. Nonsimultaneous means not occurring at the same time. Overlapping is used because every event has duration, and their initiatings and terminatings are most often of different duration. Neither the set of all experiences nor the set of all the words used to describe them are instantly reviewable nor are they of the same length. Experiences are either involuntary (subjective) or voluntary (objective), and all experiences, both physical and metaphysical, are finite because each begins and ends. With this background I now present my current working definition of God. God is the loving, superhuman, nonanthropomorphic, intellectual integrity operative...

...God is both infinite and personal. Infinite is defined as limitless or endless in space, size or extent; something impossible to measure or calculate. I'm going to focus on the first part of this definition; on God's endlessness. Any quality that God has is endless, because he himself is endless. Therefore, God has endless power, endless wisdom, endless love and so on. His endless power can be see in the creation of the universe. With a single phrase, God created light and darkness out of quite literally nothing. God then creates the rest of the world in the same way, by simply willing it to happen. God's power is so large that he can shape reality at a thought. God's endless love can be seen in the crucifixion and resurrection of...

He’s considered one of the most bad-tempered, moody, and greedy gods. He’s also known to be very vengeful when insulted. Roman form: Neptune. ...God does not create everything to be perfect. If we would be perfect without sins, flaws, and problems then there would be no God, then we would be totally equal as God, and there would be no one higher and lower than us. There would be sinners, atheist, offenders in His own creation because simply He gave us free will. God allows evil to exist because of the free will. Humans is given their God-given freedom which is the free will, it is the power to make a decision of one individual instead of taking or having God to decide what to do. The Bible describes God as holy, righteous, just, and sovereign tell us that these attributes about God meant that God is capable of preventing evil, and God desires to rid the universe of evil. So, why does God allow evil? If God has the power to prevent evil and desires to prevent evil, why does He still allow evil? God could change everyone’s personality so that they cannot...

...Can science disprove God? This is a key question in the Reason Series that is especially discussed in Episode One and one that I have always wondered about myself. Disproving anything with science is close to impossible because the scientist would need to rule it out in every situation that could possibly happen. God is outside our universe and can’t be measured, therefore, science can’t disprove him. Solid evidence of a creator does exist, though: something can’t come from nothing, so something must have started our universe. Since God is infinite, he didn’t need a beginning like the universe did. But is there a chance that the universe could have been a coincidence and God had nothing to do with it? It turns out the answer seems to be no because the conditions of life are so improbable, some consider them mathematically impossible. All of this goes to show that science can’t disprove God, and in fact, there is evidence that there is a creator. Science and religion don’t clash at all, in fact, it even seems like they go hand in hand....

...Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. -1 John 4:8. This verse is the definition of “love”. Love has various ways of expressing its meaning, but God is the meaning. According to the bible, in Revelations 1:8, it describes God as the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. As well as in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 it states, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always and preserves.” So if God is love, then God is all of these things, and love is God. By this they are one in the same. However, people say and use the word “love”, yet people are not always patient and kind, and people do boast and are angered easily. Conversely God is a part of every person and is in every human being. In addition 1 Corinthians states that our bodies are temples of God and that they are not our own. So with God being a part of people, people can love and show their love. Some of the ways love is expressed is by emotion, words, and actions....

...‘God is to Blame for the Holocaust’ Do you agree? This essay will answer the question ‘Is God to Blame for the Holocaust?’ I will give my argument for why some people may believe that God is to blame and why some may believe that it was others. I will also give my opinion while also writing about how people’s faith may affect their beliefs in God. Many people believe that God is to blame for the Holocaust. God is supposed to be a vision of perfection. Someone who listens to you, loves you and ultimately is there to help you through hardships. If he is all these things then why did he even allow the Holocaust to begin with? God is believed to be all powerful, so he had the power to stop the Holocaust. As mentioned above, God is ‘all loving’...

...“Salvation” The nonfiction short essay “Salvation” written by Langston Hughes in 1940, presents a theme on the literal and often manipulated perception of children. Hughes narrates the essay as he recounts his disappointing attempt at salvation. Hughes aunt told him that when she was saved by Jesus she saw a light, and felt something happen within herself. As children will do, Hughes took her story literally and was heartbroken as he sat in front of the church and watched other children “saved” while he was not. He believed that Jesus must not want him because he did not see or feel anything. In the end, Hughes is forced to lie about accepting Jesus and in turn rejects the Christian faith all together. I related to Hughes story on many accounts. I am a mother of three young children who perceive everything in life literally, and as a young girl I was raised in a very religious environment. I could visualize and almost feel Hughes devastation as he sat at the front of the church crushed by the thoughts of God not wanting him. “Still I kept waiting to see Jesus” (Barnet, Cain, & Burto, 2011, pp. 351). One of the churches that my family attended for a short time during my childhood practiced speaking in tongs. I specifically remember feeling just like Hughes during a service when other children were speaking in unnatural languages perceived to be sent from God himself. I could not understand why I was not chosen to talk for God and intern was hurt and ashamed of myself...

He had proven that He loves them and always did what was best for them. Israel never deserved any of this and they disobeyed God many different times. Even though Israel had turned away from the Lord so many times, He still was faithful to them. God promised the Israelites in Deuteronomy that if were faithful to Him and honored Him, He would bless them and increase their numbers. ...How Sir Francis Bacon’s essays philosophical? Francis Bacon, (1561-1626) the most influential and resourceful English writer, is a practically wise man. His essays are store-house of wordy wisdom and practicality. We find a touch of reality and practicality in his views towards truth studies, love, friendship etc. Now we are going to discuss his views. Bacon is very much frank in expressing his view towards truth in the essay “Of Truth”. Truth, according to Bacon, lacks the charm of variety which, falsehood has. Truth gives more pleasure only when a lie is added to it. He believes that, falsehood is a source of temporary enjoyment as it gives the people a strange kind of pleasure. So the essayist says: “…a mixture of a lie doth ever add pleasure” To Bacon, a liar is brave towards god but cowards towards men. A liar does not have courage to tell the truth to the people but he shows courage to tell a lie disobeying god. As the essayist comments: “For a lie faces God, and shrinks from man.” This is indeed a paradox. It means that a man does not fear god when he tells a lie. Bacon’s attitude towards study is completely practical. He emphasizes the function of studies. To him, reading improves the natural abilities of man. Through reading a person becomes a full man and by discussion he becomes a ready man. Then he needs writing to which makes a learner’s idea clear and accurate. As Bacon says: “Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man...

...The Importance of God. The importance of God is something that I feel that many people overlook in their lives, and lack of knowledge is what I feel is the cause of this overlook. God has played a major role in my life since I was a little boy and without the faith of his teaching, I don’t know where I would be. The peace of mind I receive when I read the bible or go to church is one I wish I could let everyone feel. But I am doing my duty to spread as much of the teachings of Christ as possible. There have been a lot of things that have happened in my life that I know God has pulled me through. My grandmother has always given me the word and it has taught me how to deal with other situations that I would have leaned on my own understanding to solve. With God, all things are possible and I am thankful to have this opportunity to write to someone who may not know about him. At one point in time, I lost my job. My mother was not able to help me and all I was able to do was pray. One Sunday, I went to church and my pastor, without me telling him, asked if I was still working. Just like that out of the blue, I was shocked. I told him about my situation and he let me know one of his colleagues was looking for a part-time worker, the next day I interviewed and I got hired on the spot. Had I leaned on my own understanding and not went to church to pray and worship, I would not have the job that I’ve had for two years. God is always there when I need him, and he can be there for...
