...For me, writing is frustrating. Many times I have trouble writing about anything. The main reason why I have so much trouble when writing, is because I don't concentrate on my work enough. Even when I try my hardest to concentrate, my mind seems to wonder around to a different direction towards another thought. After that, I forget all about my work and just think about various things such as people, places, and different times I've had in the past. For example, even while I'm writing this small paragraph, my mind keeps on slipping into other thoughts. I dont know if this happens to lots of people, but this is one problem that I have trouble the most in. Maybe this is why I'm a slow writer and don't like to write. When I write, I'm usually in my house sitting right where my computer is. One thing about me is that I hate writing anything with a pen and a paper. Most of the time when writing an essay, report, or anything else, I type it on my computer. I can probably type 50 times faster than writing by hand. I guess it's just something that I'm better at. I can type about 80-85 words per minute. If that isn't fast, then I dont know what is. When writing, I can write when it's quiet, loud, during the day, during the night, and during whatever atmosphere I'm in. Even if the whole house is quiet, I usually listen to music while typing an essay. However, the best time and the best atmosphere for me to write anything would be during...

...minutes preparation time – as quoted by the excel examintation board and I fully support the same opinion my notes are in brackets() . Before the Unit 1 test, students will have 15 minutes to study a stimulus text linked to the general topic area they have chosen. Students must not write on this stimulus, but can make notes on a separate piece of paper. (Notes on key words you have or want to use- these were previously learnt by you). Both the stimulus and any notes must be taken into the exam room, and students can refer to these at any point during the test. (Preferably not for higher marks but if needed referring to them wont be an issue) However, students must not refer to dictionaries or any other resources during the preparation time. (You wont need a dictionary at this point so no problem here right!) * Begin by reading the entire text through (two, three or even 4 times) * Make bullet point notes of the main points of the text * Make a note of any vocabulary from the text which might be useful in discussion of this topic * Do not waste time writing out complete sentences; you will not be allowed to read out long prepared statements anyway (marks are awarded for spontaneity and fluency so please try not to use your notes) * Consider the types of questions which might be asked about the text, and your answers to these questions * Identify any vocabulary you already know that might be useful when answering questions on this topic. The actual...

...for you? Technology has become the one main component in our daily lives, it is the one thing we turn to every day. The way we talk to people, the way we make a sale, the way we run our business's, the way we listen to music, the way we buy and sale stocks, everything we do in our daily lives is ran by technology. Look at what I am doing right now, I am doing this essay on my lap top which is recommended to have in college these days. No writes out their essay's by hand any more, its all through computers and technology which is disappointing in a sense, because its the easy way out of things as I see it, I am not saying that technology does not have its benefits it does, but what ever happened to the old classic hard working satisfaction people use to do, people managed fine and did many great things before there was technology like there is today, Its laziness the easy way of doing everything, if their is an easier way of doing things, where people can do things faster but with less work, they will develop it, but what about the long term affects of all this, dont people see what is happening to our society? Doesnt people know the consequences this is having on our lives? With more technology, and less bodily movements this planet is being tooken over by machinery and electronics and less being ran by civilization, soon civilization will be only operationg machinery instead of earning a good income for the hard work a person is applying, pretty soon...

...I describe a leader as a person who is honest, commited, and approached. I have showed leadership in Track&Field and Cross Country. When im a leader the first thing that i personally think is that being honest is important because not a lot of people honest with eachother now at days. Another thing that i think is important is commitment. self commitment is important because you have to commit to something when you want to go far places with your life. not alot of people like to commit but when you do it god sees it and he will help you through it, even when you think that 'commitment' is hard, you just have to think postive and actually do it. One more thing is communication, because you can communicate with your friends and tell them whats...

...development of the trombones physical form, musical use and social functions during the renaissance. I like this because my essay is on the physical development of brass instruments. With the illustration of the physical change you can see how much the trombone has changed. 2) Yale musical instrument series The trumpet John Wallace and Alexander McGrattan Yale Unversity Press New Have and London Copyright 2011 by John Wallace and Alexander McGrattan This book traces the evolution and the colourful performance history f one of the world’s oldest instrument (the trumpet), and how it rise to prominence as a solo instrument, this was a good source in some areas but unfortunately this book lacked on information on physical change, and how these physical changes affected the trumpet in certain area of being a solo instrument. 3) The Trombone Trevor Herbert Yale University Press Copyright 2006 by Trevor Herbert This source was very helpful as it helped me gain more knowledge in exploring the origins of the trombone, its invention in the fifteenth century, but also how the story of the trombones lead up to modern times. ...because when my father passed I promised him that I would get my bachelors because that was his dying wish. Everytime I dont feel like working on homework or turning in an essay, I always just think about him and that gives me the motivation because I know he would be so proud of me. He will be looking down from heaven when I graduate. The second reason is for my daughter. I want to provide the best life for my daughter that I can. I plan on in the years to come to get my Ph.D. For right now, Im just focusing on my Bachelors. I had a very good life growing up. I want my daughter to have the same thing. Looking at her gives me motivation to not just sit around and do nothing. Work is another incentive for me because it helps me pay my bills. It provides me with the nice life I have now. Thats pretty much the reason I work anyways. I do it for the paycheck. Incentives describe the things that motivates and encourage individuals to do something that will give them the reward. For example college for me is my incentive would be college because, I want to work hard to complete my course and my reward would be my graduation. School is very important to me because of a few things which are my son and I and family. I’m the first college graduate on my side of things when it comes to my siblings. I discussed the reasons for why welfare drug testing shouldn't be allowed anymore. The reasons are its a tremendous cost and its being wasted with tax payers money, it is unconstitutional, and children should not have to be involved with their parents' addictions. I arranged my essay with different argument tactics to display my argument. I used many different examples to display my stance on the issue such as, its unethical, and its a waste of tax payers dollars. However I came up with solutions to solve this problem. One...

...who by day is a normal joe, doing normal joe things but, by night is a computer hacker. This is his life, or at least the life that he knows to be true. From the readings of Plato and Descartes we consider what would happen to a man that is trapped in a cave only ever looking forward and can assume that again this is his life, or, at least the life that he knows to be true. What we could understand from The Matrix and the Plato readings both is, that; both men are living lives that they assume are normal or the same as everyone else; because neither of the men have ever known another life, or known that there are things beyond themselves. This makes the first major similarity that, that people only know what is true to them. If a person spends the majority of their life believing that something is one way, then to them that is their truth. The second thing that The Matrix and Plato readings have in common is that both discuss what happens when the above said person would be, “brought to the light.” Both attempts to consider what would happen when the (in a sense) “trapped” person is shown the truth about the life that they are living and shown that there is more than just the world that they are living in. Which leads to discussing the difference between the two. In the Plato readings, Plato seems to suggest that a person wouldn’t want to know the truth outside of themselves; that a person would be content only knowing the life that they have known. To show them otherwise would...

...History of Cotton Cotton is a very important fiber that we use every day and sometimes we don’t even realize it, that is the reason I chose to do research on this fiber. I myself have not much knowledge of cotton and the many uses of it, such a shame since I am a native Texan. But I do know cotton is a major contribution to the U.S and has been for many years. And when I think of the south and the state of Texas I think of cotton and the industrial revolution. I will be informing you on three key points: how cotton originated, where you see this fiber now and how it has evolved, and lastly some facts on this fiber. The use of cotton traces back many years at least 7,000 years ago and evidence of cotton has been discovered in many different places around the world. Therefore the origin of cotton is not known exactly because it is different everywhere with different times of discovery. However it has been stated that the earliest fragments of discovery for cotton dates back to 5000 BC, according to cotton.org it originated in “Sand dunes on the north coast of the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.” Since the prehistoric times cotton has been spun woven and dyed, the people of Egypt, china, and ancient India used this fiber to make clothes. Cotton today is seen just about everywhere, it is the most used natural fiber in clothing present day. In the US cotton production was small and began during the 1700s that later changed with the invention of the cotton...

...Braun Professor Fine ENC 1101 22 September 2015 "Dont Blame the Eater" by David Zinczenko In this essay David explains why people shouldn't blame the eater, but instead the environment they grew up in. In the introduction of this essay he explains his background. He grew up in a typical home in the 1980's, his parents were split up so they were on a budget. Growing up as a kid for him, lunch and dinner meant Taco Bell, McDonalds, Pizza Hut or Kentucky Fried Chicken. He goes on to say "by age 15, I had packed 212 pounds of torpid teenage tallow on my once lanky 5-foot-10 frame." (pg. 463) As time went on David eventually turned his life around, went to college, and joined the Navy, where he learned how to eat proper foods and manage his diet. This was when he realized that most teeangers today who live as he did won't turn their lives around. "Today according to National Institues of Health, Type 2 diabetes accounts for at least 30 percent of all new childhood cases of diabetes in this country." That is a large percentage of children that have diabetes, considering in "1994 diabetes was generally caused by a genetic disorder and only about 5 percent of childhood cases were obesity related or Type 2 diabetes." (pg. 463) America went on to donate "$2.6 billion in health care costs in 1969." This action showed that America did realize what obesity was doing to their country. Little did they know it would keep getting worse. Todays number is an astonishing...

...affect the individual later in life. According to Bowlby "The operation of this system is affected by an individual’s social experiences, especially with early caregivers, resulting in measurable individual differences in attachment security". Attachment is a special emotional relationship that involves an exchange of comfort, care, and pleasure. Not only does attachment security aid in survival but it also has a huge influence on development, our behaviors and relationships later in life. In the article Attachment Security, Compassion and Altruism a series of studies were done by which it is claimed that compassionate feelings and values, and altruistic behaviors are also affected by the "attachment behavioral system." What I understand from this is if you are neglected of care as an infant it will affect how compassionate or altruistic you are later in life. Theoretically wanting to enhance compassion and altruism in the real world....

...Essay Topic: use of cellphones in school Cell phones should be allowed to use in every school in the united states. Although cell phones can be a distraction during class time also can be helpful for students and teachers. There are many reasons to allowed students use their phones during school. The cellphone can provide safety to students and also it can be used as a learning tool for them. Instead of having schools wasting time trying to get rid of cellphones, we need more schools giving cellphones an educational usage for their students. Now almost every teenager own a cellphone, tablet, or a device used for entertainment. Many schools since these devices appeared have watching it as a problem for their institutions. Schools don't realize the real capacity of the cellphones. If schools start making students to use their cellphones to learn, research, and read it would be easier to learn. Students would not text or play with their phones because they would be learning on their phones. There are a lot of educational apps like electronic books, calculators, word processors educational games and they can access to educational websites. These things would improve every school and student of America. Not only better education improves a school also a very important factor is the safety. The main reason some parents buy cellphones to their children is because it provides safety to them. You dont know what can happen during school, students could have an accident , an attack...

...Death Penalty Essay Should rapists and murderers really be given the privilege to live after they ruined a family, broke their hearts, and took a loved one away from them forever? After his victim is six feet in the ground, to never be found, or if they lived, to be scarred for the rest of their lives and to never be able to trust anyone the same ever again because of what they've been through? Well in my opinion they shouldn't. They should be given the death penalty because they took an innocent life on purpose just to satisfy his needs so his life should be taken as well. He should not only get sent to prison but get the death penalty as well. i think there are two different types of murderers. There's the murderer that lives for killing and likes chopping the body parts of his victim or even likes eating them. They plan their murder to the very last detail, maybe they know their victim or maybe they don't, but they know exactly how much time they are going to spend with them and how they are going to kill them; these are called premeditated murders. Then there are the types that act in the moment of anger or of fear and dont realize what they are doing until they have already done it. I dont think that this type of murderer deserves the death penalty but they do deserve some time in prison to pay for what he or she did if it wasnt in self-defense. Many people think that if a murderer is sent to prison for life that he is going to stop killing, but there is no guarentee that...
