Rush Limbaugh “The latest from the Feminist Front” In “the Latest from the feminist Front”, Rush Limbaugh’ main point and central claim is that “feminist was established in order for unattractive women could have easier access to the mainstream of society” and he also tells us that even though many people disagree on his position, it is the truth. He goes on to say that, “feminist leadership is basically anti-male”. And that is the big picture that Rush Limbaugh is trying to portray to us. The smaller narrower picture he is drawing for us is that strong feminist leaders are making it so that when any man tries to show, “any expression of interest in a woman it is harassment”. Mr. Limbaugh says, this is a turn will eventually be trailed upon by problems. These problems he says that will arise are sub claims of the claim that he has made . one of the sub claims that he states in this article, which will happen is that “men will become fearful about making any advances to women”. This meaning that men will reach the state where they will not be able to make differences between what is a friendly gesture or what would be considered a sexually oriented gesture. What approach is, or is not okay to initiate toward women. Another problem sub claim he states, which may or may not happen is that “with this trend he trivializes that some try to confuse casual flirts, and sexually interested gesture for real sexual harassment, and real rape. This, he says will affect men everyday lives. He also mention that this will as well pulls away from actual sexual harassment. Another sub claim he makes is that “The fact of the matter is women have far more than most of them realize. In this very passage he is saying exactly in this passage that women have more power than actually know of. The main fallacy I found in this article written by Rush Limbaugh, was that he used “Begging the question”, he gave no supporting evidence to his claims, only he just keep repeating his statements, keeps rewording the same statement. Trying to understand his point, comes back every time that his position on the matter is so bias that is hard to determine if he is using a personal or close case, but with mistake, these statements are based on no actual facts , therefore qualified to be his an only his persona opinion. Other fallacies that could be linked to his essay, are the red herring, stacked evidence and hasty generalization. In some cases with this story he can be misguiding the audience, also he talks about is antifeminism and that everything they are doing is bad. This association is these of those who cannot cry loud enough against abuse and countless number of injustice endured. They are advocates to those who do not know the way, the how to defend themselves. Elsewhere, he is found not giving any examples for his claims, and jumping to fast and strong conclusion what the whole feminist ideology stands and work for. The slippery slope,. Fallacy is one other fallacy that could easily fit in this essay. His fallacy is based on a scare factor made to intimidate people into thinking that if we do this, will happen. Mr. Limbaugh is found over using this fallacy for men, as when he is talking about the major problems that men are facing and will face because of the strong feminist theory. If I agreed with his paper that would have to mean that is was well done in the case of getting men believe in it. On the other hand I do not think how he wrote it will be appealing to women because it gives little evidence whereas all he has to do was sending mixed messages to the men to scare them into agreeing with him. Foe these matters, to improve his essay I would try to slip in little bits and pieces of evidence even if it would not be that relevant.
