Illegal Immigrants

...Persuasive Essay Paper Jessica Ogunlanoh University of Phoenix April 11, 2010 Paula Brobst Essentials of College Writing/COMM 215 Ending Illegal Immigration Persuasive Essay Paper 1 As Benjamin Franklin once said, “In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.” Unfortunately, none of us can live forever and while eliminating taxes seems like a long shot, we can certainly lower it. To do that, we must have a strong economy. To have a strong economy, we cannot have one of the biggest economic drains in the nation: Illegal Immigrants. There are an estimated number of twenty million illegal immigrants in the United States. These criminals are leeches of our economic system as most of them do not pay taxes. The criminals also drain our economy by taking our jobs. Illegal Immigrants ruin the standard of living for hard-working American citizens and legal immigrants by using our social service programs from OUR taxes. It’s not simply economical issues that make it horrible and preposterous for these criminals to be accepted, it’s moral principle. Illegal Immigrants in general, do not pay taxes. Why is that? These kinds of criminals are virtually invisible to law enforcement. They are undocumented. They don’t have valid birth certificates, social security cards or passports. Since they are about as easy to find as finding Waldo in the bible, they pretty much have simply an option...

Health and Safety in the Work Place

...HNHS 103 Health and Safety in the Health and Social Care Workplace | Task 1.3 In this essay I will be reviewing systems, policies and procedure that the new directors need to implement to ensure that health and safety information is properly communicated in health and social care setting according to the legislative requirements. I will also be assessing the responsibilities for managing the health and safety of individuals. Health and safety communication is essential when working in health and social care as a health care provider because it is your job to make your service users feel safe and comfortable, when working in a health and social care environment it is the employers job to make sure all the employees are well trained, most health care settings provide a training course at the beginning of the employment. Health as safety is often communicated through signs and posters; there are many different types of health and safety signs that can be located on doors and walls all over the building. A main example of health and safety signs is an ‘Exit’ or an ‘Emergency Exit’ sign that is usually located above a door; this sign shows us where we can exit from in case of an emergency of fire, another word for this door is a ‘Fire Escape’. Having an emergency exit sign is very important because if there happens to ever be a fire or another form of emergency it will make it quick and easy for individuals to find the quickest exit and leave safely. In a health and social...

...assignment about cheating is that gives students an example of how government agencies place demands on a business. The fact that many students that blatantly cheat and get 0 but still argue say their mark needs to be changed clearly do not understand this. Claim 2 It is difficult to do a proper literature review, they are not experts and they are not used to how academics describe the problem, However they do get a benefit from looking at actual journal articles and seeing how they discuss a specific problem and review the literature. If a student cheats by getting an essay from a website that makes fake essays they will not actually learn anything. Sections on a government report related to the claims about cheating For your literature review you have to refer to a government report on cheating “Report on Student Academic Integrity and Allegations of Contract Cheating by University Students” http://www.teqsa.gov.au/sites/default/files/publication-documents/ReportOnAllegationsOfStudentMisconduct.pdf The following statements are relevant to claim 1 and claim 2 “Contract cheating – the purchase of another person’s work to present as your own – has a long history. Metacognitive Writing Assignment

...Sherief Beshara ENG 302-DeFazio Metacognitive Assignment Role of Cyber Security in Preventing Future Attacks 1. Copy/paste the following items from your major scholarly project into your Metacognitive Assignment document: * One of the main concerns is whether or not we are prepared for a cyber war. We have to equip ourselves with the education and understanding of what goes into preventing a cyber-attack and what we need to be on the offensive side. Our safety depends on it. Cyber security plays a daily role in our protection and we don’t even realize it. * Another opposing view shows that cyber security sometimes is not enough, and that the need for it is not just limited to our government, but also corporate America is in deep need for cyber security to protect its databases from malicious software and hackers that are always ready to invade and attack their firewalls. Bruce Schneider, a security expert with the Berkman Center at Harvard, mentions how important encryption is and mentions that it “protects our data from criminals. It protects it from competitors, neighbors, and family members. It protects it from malicious attackers, and it protects it from accidents” (Bailey). That is why encryption needs to be automatic to any type of data that needs to be protected or that is a target to any hacker out there. He is saying that encryption just generally puts a protective cover over all the data that needs to be protected and just protects it from everybody, even...

...prohibiting trains from crossing the state that contained more than 70 freight cars. Southern Pacific complained that the law required them to choose between disassembling at the Arizona border larger trains, making two runs across the state, and then reassembling the trains or avoiding Arizona altogether. Arizona argued the law was a safety measure designed to minimize the risk of "slack action" accidents to which longer trains are susceptible. The Court applied a test that balanced the state's safety interest against what it saw as the very substantial burden the law imposed on interstate commerce. The law was struck down. The same test was used in 1959 to strike down an Illinois law requiring trucks to have contoured rear fender mudguards rather than the straight mud guard flaps required by most other states (Bibb v Navajo Freight) and in 1978 to invalidate a Wisconsin law that limited truck length to 55 feet at a time when most long haul truck lines had gone to 65 foot trucks (Raymond Motor Transportation v Rice). http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/conlaw/statecommerce.htm The issue is what limitations does the Commerce Clause place on...

Ptlls Roles and Responsibilities as a Teacher

.../ training cycle: In my role as Learning and Development Officer it is my job to deliver the Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ) training programme, which they must complete and pass within the first three months after they are employed. The LDQ is divided into six parts with each part lasting a full day. After completion of the six days I must register the staff members with the external examining body and support them through the three months in which they are to complete their work books. As a trainer I have responsibilities to uphold but also boundaries to be aware of: To plan and design learning whilst providing equal opportunities: The external examining body provide a skeleton of how the LDQ should be delivered. It tells me the content of the six days and which subjects need to be covered. However the delivery methods and resources I use are my own choice. Before the start of an LDQ course I like to ensure that my LDQ will be delivered in a manner that places no individual at a disadvantage ‘If a learner is never successful in your lessons, he or she will soon give up’ (Petty, 2004). I go through my session slides ensuring that each slide is as clear, free of jargon and as minimal as possible. I always set up the slides as white backgrounds and dark blue font so that they are not distracting and easy to read. I then like to read through my hand outs and activities for day one to ensure that I have a balanced mix of active, verbal and written tasks...

...The inclusion of a brief summary (‘Executive Summary’) is standard reporting practice and is meant to act as a guide to the contents of the report and to highlight major conclusions and recommendations. The Executive Summary derives its name from the practice of providing the executives of an organisation, that is, those responsible for making decisions and taking appropriate action, with a concise outline of the major points in a report to save them time. The detail can be pursued in more depth later by a complete reading of the report. The structure of the Executive Summary should follow the structure of the report and include brief statements on the following:  definition of the problem  aims and objectives  methods/data sources  key findings  conclusions  any recommendations for action. The Executive Summary should be brief and succinct, and may use point form to achieve this. As a rule-of-thumb, allow one page for every 5,000 words up to a maximum of five pages, and using headings in longer Executive Summaries. The inclusion of an Executive Summary is not a substitute for discussion/exposition in the full report. Example of an Executive Summary Problem context & Purpose of report Method Results Conclusions Recommendations Limitations This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the current and prospective profitability, liquidity and financial stability of Outdoor Equipment Ltd.
