The Tripartite System was the arrangement of state-funded secondary education between 1944 and the 1970s in England and Wales, and from 1947 to 2009 in Northern Ireland. The concept was to allocate children with different abilities in different schools; Grammar, Secondary Modern and Technical schools. B. Identify and explain one advantage and one disadvantage of the Comprehensive System. One advantage about the comprehensive system was that there were children with mixed abilities in schools. This meant that children were influenced to work harder, to be able to have a higher level/ability similar to the other children in their lessons. This is a benefit for students around England and Wales as the majority of children have an equal education. However, this can also be a disadvantage as some students may have a higher ability than others and would have to wait in lessons for the students who are quite slow at learning. This can effect that student(s) ability in education and draw the student back and cause them to have the same ability as the other students. C. ...Planning one's future is one of the most difficult and inaccurate processes we go through in our daily lives. It's impossible to know what will happen over the years, and what obstacles you may have to overcome. However, we do it every day and everyone has their own ideal future planned out for themselves, including me! In my immediate future, I want to attend college at Indiana University. I'm in the process of applying as I write. I intend to major in Political Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences. My reasoning for wanting to major in Political Sciences is that I plan to go to law school, and one of the most common undergrad majors is political science, a topic I am very interested in. I love history and the politics behind wars and major world events. I want to be involved and make a difference in the world, so knowing the politics and reasoning behind why countries interact with each other and within in their own government seems pretty important. In my near future I want to, through the National Security Language Initiative, study Russian Language abroad so I can help the government gather Intel and understand the Russian messages or news. This is just an interest I have, and by no means am I guaranteed to be in a situation where I may do this. However, it is something I plan to do, if given the opportunity. ...WE NEVER NOTICE THEM Dusk had fallen and we were surrounded. I stared out the window out onto the fields of corpses; they stared back up at me. They were swarming and pushing forward, pressing from all sides against the tiny cottage we were sheltering in. Our time for running had come to an end. A cry from downstairs snapped me out of my stupor. I rushed downwards, gripping my shotgun with sweaty palms. The noise down here was horrendous; the dead groaned and screamed and smashed endlessly against our barricades. They would not hold out much longer. Tania turned to me with a panicked look, “How does it look out there?” She asked desperately. She looked closely at my expression and turned back to the barricades, her answer didn’t need words. There was a loud crack as the one of the window barricades smashed and fell uselessly onto the floor. Through the hole a man’s face appeared and looked at us with a white glazed eye, his cheek was torn and hung loosely off his face. I dropped the shotgun and rushed to take a crowbar off the kitchen table. I reached the window just as the intruder attempted to climb through the gap and swung the crowbar at his head. There was a sickening crunch and his body sank to the floor. Behind me I heard other windows cracking open. They swarmed into the house. Racetrack Playa is almost completely flat, 2.5 miles from north to south and 1.25 miles from east to west, and covered with cracked mud. The rocks, some weighing hundreds of pounds, slide across the sediment, leaving furrows in their wakes, but no one has actually witnessed it. 9. Kuldhara — Rajasthan (Ghost Town) village of Kuldhara is a ghost village that has been abandoned since 1800s. It is said to carry a curse of the villagers who migrated to other places. Kuldhara lies about 15 Km west of Jaisalmer in western Rajasthan. The village now lies in ruins. The village was established in 1291 by the Paliwal Brahmins, who were a very prosperous clan and were known for their business acumen and agricultural knowledge. But one night in 1825 all the people in Kuldhara and nearby 83 villages vanished in dark. According to folklore, Salim Singh, the minister of the state, once visiting this village fell for the beautiful daughter of chieftain (Paliwal Brahmin) and wanted to marry her. The minister threatened the villagers that if they did not marry the girl to him, he would levy huge taxes. The chief of the village with those of other 83 adjoining villages decided to abandon and migrate elsewhere as against marrying the girl to Salim Singh.
