...Current Ethical Issues Paper As I went through the website Virtual Organization to figure out what fictional organization I was going to pick, there were so many from business to education, from healthcare to government there were so many choices but I finally came to my decision and the organization that I decided to use to create my Ethical Organization Profile will be Huffman Trucking. In picking Huffman Trucking I found during the research that this would be something that would interest me because my husband to be is off getting his CDL license and the story’s he tells after watching videos on how to operate the truck and knowing what is what and where everything is. See we on the outside world may feel aw it’s so easy to drive those heavy trucks but we don’t realize from the inside out how much it takes to be able to drive an eighteen wheeler or a bus of anything of the sorts. I was told that those trailers on the back of the truck are 4,000 pounds and they are very heavy. So in learning this there is certain spend you are allowed to travel in when driving these trucks or you will tip over. Huffman Trucking was founded by a native named K. Huffman from Cleveland, Ohio in 1936. The company started as a single tractor- trailer but the growth sky rocketed due to the results of World War II which increased the demand for carrier services between factories in the Midwest to ports on the East Coast (virtual organization, 2011). By 1945, everything increased by size such as...

...Huffman Trucking Ethics Program Current Ethical Issues Paper Rick Spaise 8/26/2012 XMGT 216 We are creating an ethical program for a trucking company. The name of the company is Huffman Trucking. The company was created in 1936 by the founder K. Huffman. The company started in Cleveland, OH. He started the company with a single tractor and trailer. The company's growth was attributed to World War 2. The demand for trucking companies to move product from the factories in the Midwest to the ports along the East Coast is why many companies were able to brow very quickly in that time period. By 1945 the company had grown its fleet to 16 tractors and 36 trailers. They maintain their government contracts today. Over the next 60 years the company continued to grow because the company went out and found new customers. The other thing the company did was they acquired 5 Eastern Regional carriers, which made them a bigger company and also gave them the tools to continue with the customer care and service that helps company's stay around for many years. With the accusations of those 5 companies it also helped for Huffman Trucking to maintain themselves as a privately held company for all those years. When putting a ethics program together it should probably have 2 or 3 parts to it. The first part of the ethics program is going to be putting together a new hire orientation page. This page is going to need any and all ethical issues on it. This page will also need to...

...Virtual Organization Strategy Paper Finance for Business/FIN 370 March 18, 2011 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review a hypothetical organization and outline the options the organization may be faced with when debating the idea of expansion. The organization in question is Huffman Trucking, which is a trucking firm based in Ohio that has established a presence by acquiring five Eastern regional carriers. The company is privately held. The analysis of this organization includes expansion options of an Initial Public Offering, acquiring an organization in the same industry, and merging with another organization. The positive and negative aspects of each option above are reviewed and a conclusion will be drawn as to the next step for that business to take. Virtual Organization Strategy Paper The concept of business expansion offers both promise and peril. The desire of growth for a business must be tempered with the fact of additional uncertainty and risk. Business under normal operating circumstances is perilous. The additional layering of risk in any type of expansion or capital generation cannot only serve to fail in its objective, but also has the possibility to bring the organization to financial ruin. An effective executive must weigh the chance of success with the absolute possibility of failure. Going Public through an IPO An option for Huffman Trucking to consider for expansion of its operations is going public through an initial...
