Every person will have their own set of ethical principles to which they lead their life and make decisions. The basis of ethical decision making corresponds with one’s own morals and personal values. Morals are the set of a standards for behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do, the foundation of right and wrong. Personal values may vary greatly from one person to the next. There are hundreds of qualities in life and people that can be considered to be values for any given person. Our value systems, morals and ethics are all defined through how we are raised. Geographical location, such as city living vs rural living, religious or spiritual and cultural influences can all affect a person’s beliefs. Having been raised in the city in a Caucasian, catholic family, I would say that my foundational value systems are rather generalized. I was raised to respect my elders and everyone around me for their individuality. My family is a very non-judging unit that welcomes everyone into their home regardless of any types of differences. Race, religions or personal style were not taught to be the criteria for judgment, only goodness of a person’s heart and soul. Findings – In general, many of the key dilemmas represent themselves in the extreme poverty segment of the BOP where commercial business models have the least traction. Research limitations/implications – Propositions are developed for the corrective actions in the paper which might allow future research to uncover differences in intervention success in different BOP markets. Practical implications – The discussion of potential interventions for the various stakeholders may ameliorate criticisms of MFIs, suggest opportunities for cross-sectoral partnerships and improve outreach to the poorest of the poor. The juvenile sex offender’s registry and notification laws are controversial and proponents of these laws feel they act as deterrents to future offending even though there is no evidence to support this claim. In the United States there are three types of legislation dealing with sex crimes. The first was pre-World War II when offenders were subjected to indefinite institutionalization and sterilization. These policies were jointly influenced by the fields of sexology and eugenics (Ordover, 2003). Sexologists promoted the view that minor forms of sexual misbehavior would predict future sexual violence and homicide (Jenkins, 1998), whereas eugenicists promoted the view that criminal behavior was genetically determined (Ordover, 2003).
