Ethical Actions Worksheet

Write a 100- to 150-word response to each of the following questions:

• Was there anything in either the University Of Phoenix Student Code Of Conduct or the Student Code of Academic Integrity that surprised you? If so, what was it? Why were you surprised? If not, why not?

From reading the texts outlined in the ethics game I am surprised but not as you think I should be. I am surprised actually that the writings should have been said. First of all, everyone that makes a conscious effort to attend University of Phoenix holds themselves higher than some of the dredges of society. Part of holding yourself higher would be to have the morals as to not do the negative things to coast through a class. Someone that does this has the potential to become the danger in their field of study. An example is a person plagiarizes their paper in their IT class. By doing this they acknowledge the do not know what they are exactly doing and could create a bigger problem in the long run.

• What did you learn about the behaviors considered important for an ethical learner or student in the University of Phoenix learning community?

Being an ethical learner and a Student in the university of Phoenix community is a lot more highly honored than I thought. What they said about if people commit plagiary; as a whole the community starts to fail. Holding ourselves responsible as an ethical learner is vitally important. As we hold each other accountable we should as a community hold ourselves accountable. As sited in the Student Code of Academic Integrity You are part of an academic community whose fundamental mission is the pursuit of intellectual growth. How as a learning community can we achieve this goal if we do not conduct ourselves with personal responsibility?

• Why are the Student Code of Conduct and Student Code of Academic Integrity important to you and the University of Phoenix learning community?

The Student Code of Conduct and Student Code of Academic Integrity though in a responsible world would not be needed is essentially important in this learning community. By having both codes it holds us as a learning community more responsible. How it does this and this is encouraged by this assignment, is we have to read the Codes of Conduct, and the Code of Code of Academic Integrity. By us reading and understanding both codes we are expected to hold and honor them. If we violate the above said codes knowingly, we can be held accountable for our actions because we knowingly did wrong.

Ethics

...IDEA : 1 Ethical DecisionMaking Framework Guide & Worksheets 1 The IDEA: Ethical Decision-Making Framework builds upon the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre Community Ethics Toolkit (2008), which was based on the work of Jonsen, Seigler, & Winslade (2002); the work of the Core Curriculum Working Group at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics; and incorporates aspects of the accountability for reasonableness framework developed by Daniels and Sabin (2002) and adapted by Gibson, Martin, & Singer (2005). Introduction Ethics is about making “right” or “good” choices and the reasons that we give for our choices and actions. Ethics promotes reflective practice in the delivery of health care. Ethics addresses the question “What should we do and why?” Another way to describe ethics is as follows. It is about: • Deciding what we should do – what decisions are morally right or acceptable; • Explaining why we should do it – justifying our decision using language of values and principles; and • Describing how we should do it – outlining an appropriate process for enacting the decision. 2 Ethical issues arise every day in health care (See Appendix A). Everyone has a role to play in ensuring the ethical delivery of care, from bedside to boardroom. Trillium Health Centre is committed to providing quality compassionate care to the community it serves. Ethical principles and values are incorporated into the way that decisions are made and care is delivered...

It claims that, when people choose to help others, they do so ultimately because of the personal benefits that they themselves expect to obtain, directly or indirectly, from doing so. Ethical egoism - the normative ethical position that moral agents ought to do what is in their own self-interest. It differs from psychological egoism, which claims that people can only act in their self-interest.
