Comedy is a magical thing. Some people are fortunate enough to have been gifted with comedy, to have the ability to make people laugh through their words and actions. Here in the Philippines, there are a lot of comedic actors and actresses who have been able to make people smile throughout the years through their talent and wit. One of the most notable comedic actresses in the industry today is Eugene Domingo. Her style of acting with the way she delivers her lines justifies her being one of the most critically acclaimed actresses in the Philippines, as shown in her movies, Kimmy Dora and Ang Babae sa Septic Tank. Fond of copying people during her childhood days, she became interested in acting and took up Theatre Arts in the University of the Philippines, apprenticing as an actress and stage manager in UP’s theatre company, Dulaang UP. Her first movie role was Emma Salazar Case in 1991, followed by Maricris Sioson in 1993 and Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig in 1995. Her breakthrough role, however, was when she was cast as Rowena in Ang Tanging Ina in 2003. Since then, she became known as the sidekick of the Philippines’ Queen of Comedy, Ai-Ai Delas Alas, starring with her once again in Volta in 2004.
