Evaluate different methods Nandos could use to differentiate their restaurants. (13 Marks) Nandos is a chain of Portuguese restaurants which over the last 5 years has grown astronomically, this is due to Nandos taking a different outlook on its restaurants than a lot of over businesses, and its success is down to differentiating itself from its competitors. One way in which Nandos differentiates its restaurants is by not following the traditional model of service; the stereotypical way to order in a restaurant is to be seated and then a waiter will come over and take your order, then your food comes and you receive the bill and pay for your food after. Nandos was one of the first restaurants not to follow this models; at Nandos you get seated then have to go up to the counter and order yourself and pay then, afterwards the food is delivered and once you’ve finished you can go whenever you want. This was a successful way of Nandos making itself different from competitors as it allowed people to have a more relaxed vibe as customers do not have to way around for ages for waiters. This leads to customers being happy with their customer service which therefore would mean that Nandos has good brand loyalty due to this. Depending on how well the customer service is could mean that if customers like it a lot then may even tell their friends about it, this word of mouth promotion would increase the footfall at the Nandos restaurants. Another way in which Nandos differentiates its restaurants is by its prices, this element of the marketing mix allows Nandos to be slightly different from most restaurants due to its prices being lower than a lot of other restaurants. Nandos is notorious for being nice sit down meal which is relatively quick and cheap, it isn’t marketed at upper class people looking for a posh meal, and it’s more of a convenience restaurant that tastes
