Evaluation:
I chose to make a meal that contained Calcium and Vitamin D. In order to accomplish this, I made two dishes. The first, Fish in Cheese Sauce, and the second, Pistachio and Chocolate Mousse with fruit salad in Tuile Baskets.
Before I made these two dishes, I researched about Calcium and Vitamin D and found out why these were important in the body and what they helped prevent. This helped me gain more insight and helped me know how important they were. Then, I found out a list of foods that contained these nutrient sin high quantities. With this, I was able to choose what dishes I was going to make. Before I chose these dishes however, using Food for a PC, I was able to know how much Calcium and Vitamin D these dishes contained. Comparing the figures to the DRVs, I was able to know what needed to be adjusted. This meant that I changed the fish (originally Cod) to Herring which had more Calcium in it. Even with this, I had not provided the entire amount of calcium needed. Also, I researched a couple of recipes that I could do. Another part of my planning was that I created a sample sensory analysis sheet that I could use for my sensory testing. This helped because with the six words I had chosen, I knew what I needed to focus on more (making it soft, savoury, etc). After all of this, using the recipe I had chosen from the internet, I made a time plan that showed how long I should take to do things. This helped me because it told me what I needed to do and how long to take so I knew if I was spending time on a particular activity. Also, the time plan contained special points and hygiene and safety points and this helped me in my being safe.
The practical aspect of this short task was made easy for me by the help of the time plan I had made. The making of the Fish in Cheese Sauce was over all very good. One mistake that I made was that I had done half of
