Eveline - Short SummaryThe story starts off with Eveline sitting in a chair by the window in her house, prepering to leave home. She wants to move from her father, because she has lived there for her entire life, and her father has a drinking problem, and he is too violent to both Eveline and her siblings. Eveline "thinks" she is in love with a sailor called Frank, who seems like a very gentle and friendly person, she may well be in love with him, but when she stands at the dock with the choice of leaving with Frank, or staying home, she goes into shock and suddenly screams. She is afraid of what's going to happend if she leaves with him, what if he leaves her shortly after, what if Frank isn't such a nice guy at all, she doesn't have the selfconfidence to take the final step. Eveline is a young women living with her father. Her mother is dead, and so is her oldest brother. Her other brother left home for some "Curch Decorating Business".Evenline has very little trust in herself, she doesn't have the selfconfidence to make her own decicions.
