On Thursday, June 9, 2016, I responded to 3457 Hillsborough Road, the Kroger’s fuel center in reference to a trespassing call. Upon arrival, I met Mr. Willie Marcus Brown an armed security guard with Dunbar Company. Mr. Brown stated he was at the fuel center. He exited his vehicle to purchase an item when he heard his vehicle’s door close and witnessed a white male in the driver seat of his vehicle. The suspect locked the doors and was revving the engine but could not place the vehicle in the drive gear. Mr. Brown at this point said he used his spare key to unlock the vehicle’s door. As he open the vehicle’s door he was struck several times by the suspect who was attempting to get away in the vehicle. Mr. Brown over powered the suspect and …show more content…
I headed towards the Kroger’s fuel center and was advised by 911 communications that the suspect was a white male wearing black shorts and no shirt.

I left the fuel center and went to the direction I saw the suspect running towards in an attempt to locate him. While on the PVA of the Motel 6 behind the Exxon Cruziers gas station the victim drove up and advised me that a white male just attempted to steal his vehicle and assaulted him.

I notified communication and all police units in the area that I was out with the victim, and would be canvassing the area.

I circulated the motels parking lot area looking the suspect. While driving in the rear parking lot of the Day’s Inn motel I observed a white male who fit the description of the suspect with an open container, coming from the tree line area of the back parking lot. I exited my patrol vehicle and call the suspect over to my vehicle but he kept on walking and he didn’t stop or look at me. I instructed him second time to stop and that I need to speak with him at this time the suspect said, “what I didn’t do

... At the age of nineteen, my mother married her high school sweetheart, all while being pregnant and each of them were only producing 8 dollars an hour. For the first five years of their marriage, they lived in four different rental homes in Kinsley, Kansas and had another child, all while living paycheck to paycheck and trying to keep up with the Jones'. Two years after they had their second child, in 1997, they made a rush decision to move to Scott City, Kansas for the sake of my Grandpa's multiple heart attacks. So, with no jobs, no house, no money, my mother, father, and two brothers loaded everything up to relocate into my aunt and uncle's unfinished basement, only to put more strain on their money finances and family relationships. Three months later, my family up and departed from my aunt and uncle's house to move, once again, into a rental home across town. Even though my parents were living above their means, all they wanted to do was take care of their children. In 1999, without being able to afford another child, my mother gave birth to me, and that is when my parents realized they were "robbing Peter to pay Paul." At this point in time, both of my parents, together, were only making around 17,000 dollars a year, working at the Scott City Golf Course and managing an in-home daycare, with three children of their own, ages 8,4 and ,1. After living in the rental house for around three total years, compelling my father to make a substantial decision to purchase...

... On the eastern shore of Maryland in the early 2000s, Troy grew up in a home she thought was full of love. Below the surface there was abuse and turmoil. Unbeknownst to her, her father’s drug use and physical abuse would alter her life for years to come. One night I patiently waited for my father to come home but was informed that he never would. Since then I has been on the path to mental stability, recovering from trauma and trying to cope with the anxiety and depression she was left with. In 2003 when I was just 7 years old, I came home one evening from my grandparent’s house eagerly waiting to be greeted by my father's presence. Skipping across the yard my curls bouncing around my face, wearing the pink track suit my grandmother gifted me. I could usually count on a sneaky trip to the store for junk food, watching her favorite shows or playing with my dad after work. When I saw no sign of him and it was time for him to be home, I turned to my mother to ask where he was and that when she told me my dad had been arrested. Those words hit me in my chest and left me with feelings I had never felt before. Hurt, betrayal, loss, anger. No dad? One day he’s there and the next gone. All I could think about was how my mom could do such a thing, how could she send my dad away without even telling me? Fast forward to 2012. I’m sixteen years old attending Northwood high school in the dead town of Pittsboro. It had been about seven or eight years since I had seen my father. Once a daddy’s...

... I was raised in a sheltered environment still even until this day. (Due to allergies) When I was a child my parents divorced and I thought it was natural that my parents lived in two different places. A couple years went by and my father fought to get me back, because my mother didn’t really take care of me very well. I ended up in the hospital so many times because she failed to take care of me and pushed me on to my father and my father’s mother. He won me back and I lived with him and his side of the family in one house in the Glind. We moved out eventually to a neighborhood behind Judson ISD. My aunt and her kids lived with my grandmother and grandfather who moved to the neighborhood. My father and I moved to an apartment. When my father won me back he didn't really know what to do himself because he never thought that he would win me back, but my grandmother helped him. I went to St.Monica's when I was a kid until eighth grade, because my father couldn’t afford it anymore. Then I went to Bradley Middle School. During my time in St.Monica’s, I was in the fourth grade and my grandfather passed away in his sleep at a nursing home; It broke my heart deeply. I loved him a lot. I got up to take a step away from the crazy family just long enough to play some piano and recollect my thoughts. ...On July 1 in 2013, I was on leave in Ohio visiting my daughter and my family. My daughter had been playing volleyball for three months, and her team had made it to the championship. Excited, she wanted me to go watch her team’s final game, so of course I said, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Sitting in the bleachers waiting for the game to start I noticed Alycia, who happened to be the mother of my daughter’s good friend. I have known Alycia for eleven years, but seeing her this time I decided to take a chance. I did not quite have the courage to ask her out, so I had to think of something to get this woman to say yes to a date. Before the game started, we were taking pictures of the kids with our phones. I noticed my phone had taken a better picture, so I asked for her number to text her the picture. The idea to get her number worked, but it was kind of a creep move but never the less it worked. As my daughter’s game progressed, Alycia and I caught up on some old times about how big the kids had gotten over the years. Once the game ended, I was packing my daughter into the car said bye to Alycia and we drove away to celebrate the win. After I dropped my daughter off to her mother I could not wait anymore I texted Alycia. I did not text her “hello” or “how are you” I texted “will you marry me”. At first I did not think she would respond, but to my surprise, she replied, “I do not think your daughter’s mom would like that.” I laughed inside, so I followed the text with a dinner...

Examples Of Narrative Essay About Basketball Game

...Hundreds of emotions filled me the night of our substate game. The year before, my junior season, my teammates and I conquered our goal of being class 4A volleyball state champions. There was a lot of pressure on us. We had lost a lot of players going into our 2016 season. Everyone doubted us. Everyone wanted us to lose. Although, we didn’t let that slow down our hunger to try and achieve our goal for the second year in a row. We survived all the negative energy that was thrown our way, until the night of October 31, 2016. That night, around 5:30, we reached our destination of North Fayette Valley High School. I went into the locker room to put my gear on for what I hoped and prayed wouldn’t be my last time. We jammed out and got pumped up for the biggest game of the year. Energy and excitement filled the room. Girls ran, danced, and jumped around like they had the energy of a newborn puppy. We took the court for warm ups. Everyone said we had an “easy ride to state,” but I wasn’t letting that get to my head. I tried my hardest to stay focused and get ready to play my game. Unfortunately, my nerves must have gotten to me, because I had an awful warm up. This only made me more anxious for the game to begin. My coach pulled me off to the side to try to ease my nerves and told me a few secrets about the opposing team, Osage. He was fired up. The only way he knew how to coach me was to shout. I couldn’t tell if my face was covered in his spit or my sweat. I dried my face off with...

Comparing Atul Gawande 'Letting Go And Hellhole'

...advance more complex purposes to his writing. Atul Gawande commonly uses narratives and informative data/research to expound on his greater persuasive purpose. Two of Gawande’s works that present a good example of his skillful use of the narrative and informative modes are “Letting Go” and “Hellhole”. Both “Letting Go” and “Hellhole”, by Atul Gawande, are complete works of literature that consist of minor topics that build up to a major hidden meaning. By using the minor topics of discussion, Gawande seems to relate and point to the more major meaning of the essay which is not as tangible as the minor topics. In “Letting Go”, Atul Gawande brings discussion to the end of life and the difficulties doctors, families, friends, and sick individuals have understanding and grasping certain death. Gawande starts of the essay...

Once the writers are lucid about the technique of writing an essay and how to write an essay outline, the next step that they face up to is how to move toward a particular research paper topic. And what type of writing works best? Students often complain about a certain type of essay they have been assigned with. It seems to them that writing within essay type boundaries doesn’t allow them to think out the box, limits their potential. But writing a paper without any directions could be even more confusing than the class assignment you got. Descriptive vs Narrative Essaya

...Descriptive vs. Narrative Essays Camille Hall English 121 Instructor James Welch March 17, 2013 Descriptive vs. Narrative Essays Descriptive essays are much more detailed and expressive than narrative essays and are more apt to hold the reader’s attention by ejecting more emotion. The narrative essay uses detail to advance the story, while the descriptive uses to detail to describe an unfamiliar subject. The ability to describe something convincingly is always important to both the writer and their audience. Both descriptive and narrative essays use detail but for different purposes. In this essay I will compare and contrast two essays; “I Want A Wife” and “Caged Bird” in order to give insight into each type of essay. The aim of a narrative essay is to describe a course of events from a subjective point, is usually told in chronological order, and is usually written in first person. Narrative essays are used to tell a story in a way so that the reader learns a lesson or gains insight, much of this is done through lots of detail about the subject that is being written about. The best narrative essays are those inducing images in the reader’s minds about what's happening by using concrete, specific verbs and nouns rather than a lot of adverbs and adjectives. To write a narrative essay you will need to tell a story (usually about something that has happened to you) or it could be fiction. The purpose is for your reader to learn a lesson or gain insight of...

Compare & Contrast

...Compare-Contrast Essay The thought of doing an essay for most people can at be quite intimidating because of the need to be technically proficient, following the mandatory expectations outlined and some might find them boring because they feel like it is too restrictive in nature. That is merely just a common misconception though, there are several different styles of essays and the two that are going to be discussed are descriptive and narrative essays. The narrative essay's main purpose is to tell a story using characters and a plot, where perhaps a problem is given, and the events that unfold eventually explain a solution to the problem or issue presented. In contrast the descriptive essay can be very powerful in the fact it is written using the five senses (visual, audible, taste, tactile sensations and smells) this allows the author to bring a scene or object to life in the mind of the reader. While narrative essays are almost like a movie that is played out in the judgment of the reader, the descriptive essay paints a vivid photograph or place the reader can experience and this is why descriptive essays are the superior of the two styles. One of the best qualities that narrative essays are able to offer over descriptive essays is they are structured to appeal to the simplest of mankind's urge to share a good story. There are various forms in which we can find a narrative writing example such as a poem, play, novel and the obvious essay. There are times...
