Strengthen the Confidence of the Stakeholders
Faced with the sharp drop of the stock price and the loss of the goodwill, VW should initiate contact with its institutional investors, individual investors, regulatory agencies, and customers and convince them to remain loyal.

Institutional Investors Need a Conference to Know the Details
VW must convince its institutional investors that the huge loss is temporary and that VW can make enough revenue to compensate in the near future. Although the prospects of the company in its current position are not positive, it must let institutional investors know that the company will immediately take effective measures to minimize the loss. The best communication strategy to deal with the institutional investors is a direct approach because they are the top elites in the industry. The new CEO has the responsibility to hold a formal meeting of all institutional investors in the next week. This meeting aims to make the institutional investors believe that the new business strategies will “work steadfastly to put VW back on the right track” (Announcement of the new CEO, 2015).

Individual Investors Gain the Information Through the Emails and Letters
In response to the sudden drop in the stock price, VW must make its individual investors believe that the stock price will rise and that holding VW’s stock is worthwhile. Individual investors have high credibility in the stock market. Therefore, VW’s Director of Investor Relations can use a direct approach to deal with the individual investors. The department can send emails and letters to stockholders and show them that the company has already taken effective measures. Additionally, VW can post relevant information on social media to expand the range of this information.

What intrigues and motivates people more than money? There’s probably not very much. According to an article from TIME, Esurance purchased the first commercial after the big game. During the Super Bowl, a 30 second time slot cost companies a grand four million dollars. Esurance saved itselves 30 percent with their post-game purchase, so they decided to take the 1.5 million dollars saved and give it back. The online based company decided to give away the money to one lucky winner, and all that had to be done to be eligible was to tweet “#esurancesave30” within thirty-six hours of the commercial’s first airtime. The company decided to use their savings to “try and spread the word about how uber-efficient we are.” In the past, Esurance had difficulty in terms of gaining customers based on their advertising. The company new it needed a revamp...

Balanced Scorecard - Executive Brief

...The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Framework, Implementation Methodology and Recommended Application - Executive Brief (April 2012) - Introduction Balanced Scorecard is an integrated, organization-wide management system that drives, in an aligned manner, the transformation, improvement and modernization efforts of all hierarchical levels towards the accomplishment of organization’s Strategy. For this reason, Balanced Scorecard is also known as a Strategy Execution system. More precisely, Balanced Scorecard represents a framework for aligned Strategic Planning and for the consistent management of the organizational and individual performance in the execution of the Strategic Plan. Furthermore, Balanced Scorecard is a communication tool that helps each employee better understand where the Strategy drives the organization, what the plan is for reaching that destination and what their departmental and individual measured contribution is to that convergent effort. With such understanding, the employees – whether directly involved in the planned Strategy Execution, or not – can also change and improve the way they perform their daily jobs through micro-decisions that are both convergent and complementary to the execution of organization’s Strategic Plan. BSC History Balanced Scorecard has been launched twenty years ago as a first set of principles for balanced strategic Objectives and Measures/KPIs setting and measurement. The “parents” of Balanced Scorecard are Dr. Robert S. Kaplan...

Executive Brief – Bonefish Grill

...19 March 2012 Executive Brief – Bonefish Grill Bonefish Grill currently operates in the United States with 152 locations in 28 states. The purpose of this executive brief is to determine if Bonefish Grill should expand internationally. OSI Restraints is the parent company of Bonefish Grill they also own the Outback and Carrabba’s brands. The primary benefit of expanding internally is that Bonefish would gain access to a larger market. Disadvantages of expanding internationally include risks that their product would not fit well with the country they invest in and the obstacles associated with establishing a global supply chain. Bonefish should not expand internationally instead they should focus on expanding domestically. With only 145 (OSI Restaurant Partners) locations they have not yet saturated their domestic market therefore they do not yet have a need to gain access to a larger international market. Outback currently has 778 (OSI Restaurant Partners) domestic restaurants and Carrabba’s has 233 domestic restaurants showing that Bonefish still have a large opportunity to grow in the U.S. before pursuing international expansion. All but seven of Bonefish’s locations are company-owned and thus allowing for higher profits. An international expansion would work best using either a franchise or joint venture that would better allow for a localization strategy and bring local experience to a new restaurant. However, with the franchise or joint venture model OSI’s profits would...

Case Brief

...Case brief of Malaysia case To make the case brief it is necessary to divide our analysis in 5 phases: • Situation • Questions • Hypothesis • Proof and action • Alternatives 1) Situation Government of Malaysia is in front of big challenges, prime-minister is going to have very important meeting, where will be held discussion about future of the country. Malaysia developed its economy by exporting timber, and this caused destruction of local nature, which was a serious threaten for global world. So government should decide how to respond to the western environmentalists, as they were threatening they would make an important restrictions against Malaysia. 2) Questions The important questions which may appear around this case are following: 1) What is the basic motive for western environmentalists? (Are they really interested with condition of the world or just lobbing their countries?) 2) Are there other substitutes for Malaysia, which can replace the export of timber? And also important question is, that how the restrictions of environmentalists will hurt the economy of Malaysia? 3) Hypothesis By foreseeing socio-economical situation of Malaysia, we can make an appropriate hypothesis. Export is very important for every country, especially for the developing countries. And in Malaysia the export of timber is the greatest part of whole export. In spite of this, Malaysia is trying to shorten the export of timber as raw materials, and they try to encourage local industries...

This approach would also only be able to deliver 1 shipment per time, which wouldn’t be ideal if we were behind schedule or if a problem comes up, and if something happens to the truck then we would lose all 3 of our shipments. Amalgamated Integrated Services offers a cross-docking service, which would allow Spartan Plastics to ship our products earlier lowering our storage costs. AIS would also provide us with a more “safe” transportation approach by diving each of our shipments into a different truck, therefore if something unforeseen happens to one of the trucks or the shipment Spartan Plastics can still be sure that the other 2 shippings are on...

American Vinyl Products Executive Brief

...American Vinyl Products, AVP, is a small manufacturer of vinyl and plastic products, such as vinyl car products, plastic after-market products, and decals for the recreational market. AVP’s customers can be divided into three groups: do-it-yourselfers (DIY), professional users, and large corporate accounts, such as American Performance Car. American Performance Car has sent the president of AVP a letter that points out AVP’s lackluster customer service and has given them an ultimatum to provide an acceptable resolution or they will leave and find another supplier. I recommend AVP to upgrade their phone system. Currently, all three different customer types go through the same phone system even though their calls are usually vastly different from one another. The DIYs call in the most per day and lasts the longest, the large corporate accounts call in the least per day and lasts the shortest, while the professional users are in between. AVP should upgrade their phone system so that it splits into three lines in order to expedite the process. They should also hire more staff, divide them up, and train them appropriately to accommodate for this. The con to doing this is that it will cost a lot of money, but I believe the revenue saved and earned from this will overtake the costs in the long run. More staff also means that even during the two hour break for lunch there will be a sufficient number of representatives. Changes should be focused on improving the experience for...

Marketing Plan

...Market Growth Wal-Mart, Target, and Kohls are the company's largest customers, accounting for 24%, 17%, and 5% of 2014 sales, respectively. Mass merchandise stores are vital to the company's performance, accounting for about half of Hanesbrands' total sales. Hanesbrands also allies with mid-tier stores, including J. C. Penney, Macy's, and Kohls, which are adding its lower-priced labels. It's L'eggs and Hanes brand underwear are also sold in food, drug, and variety stores. Hanesbrands also sell apparel to the US military for sale to soldiers and through discount chains, including Dollar General and Family Dollar Stores. Looking to grow abroad in 2014, Hanesbrands acquired DBApparel Group of France, a maker of intimate apparel in Europe, from investment firm Sun Capital Partners. DBApparel holds the license to manufacture and sell apparel under the Wonderbra and Playtex trademarks in the European Union, as well as several other nations in Europe and South Africa ("Hanes Brands Inc.", n.d). Hanesbrands hopes to identify and capitalize on the long-term megatrends related to their top product lines over the next five to 10 years. To this end, in early 2015, the company purchased Knights Apparel to expand its sports licensed collegiate apparel business with a goal of appealing to college students as that market grows over the next years and decades. In 2012, after success with its Tagless undershirts, Hanesbrands brought its Tagless platform to its male underwear bottom products...

Underwear Tort Case

...Unreasonably Dangerous Underwear Dangerous product? A large guy (280-90 pounds) ironically won a one-week trip to Hawaii as a reward for selling more than $20,000 in diet products. But in a lawsuit against Hanes, the underwear maker, he alleged his “dream trip” went awry due to allegedly defective briefs which “gaped open and acted like a sand belt on my privates,” causing injury. We’ll let the court elaborate on this interesting products liability case: Plaintiff testified that by the second day in Hawaii he was in debilitating pain. However, … he ignored the pain until he returned to Pensacola two weeks later. He explained he was able to ignore the pain because he was enjoying himself so much on this long anticipated vacation that he did not dwell on or focus on the pain to any degree. Plaintiff testified he believed sand that he picked up in his swim trunks while enjoying the Hawaiian surf had irritated his penis. Over the next few days he and his wife “walked all over the place” until his condition worsened to the point that he “could hardly walk.” Plaintiff testified his inability to walk was caused by defendant’s defective manufacturing of his underwear which caused his “fly” to gap open. The gap resulted in his penis protruding from his underwear, whereupon the edges of the opening abraded his penis like “sandpaper belts.” … Under cross examination plaintiff admitted he never examined his penis to assess the problem and/or treat the problem. He testified he is a...

Executive Order 906: A Very Brief Summary

...What was the reasoning for the camps? The reason for the camps was because many Americans after the bombing of Pear Harbor thought that the Japanese Americans were still loyal to the homeland. One hundred twenty seven thousand American citizens were imprisoned for being of Japanese ancestry. While most people would say that’s crazy, that is just how things were back then. Everyone was suspicious of everyone, so if you happen to be Japanese you were automatically assumed to be a concern. The beginnings of the relocation for the Japanese, when majority of them were moved to the west coast.
