...Chocolate SLIDE 1 Good morning friends !! Please take your chocolates from the basket. Thank you. Myself and nithya will share on Chocalates……………… SLIDE 2 So Where Chocolates come from? Yes!! It comes from most of the tropical parts of the world like Africa, Ghana the number one producer, then Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico etc etc… This is a Cacoa Tree which bears the Cocoa pods. The tree takes 5-6 years to mature and bear a fruit. The ripe cocoa pod has about 30 usable pods each year ie rougly 1000 cocoa beans a year Around 500 beans make 1 pound only ie 2 pound of bittersweet cocoa per tree in a year. Cacao farming is very labor intensive. Every part of cacao farming, from planting to harvesting to fermenting, is best done by hand, not machines. Pods must be removed from the trees individually, by hand, because not all ripen at the same time. Farmers generally use machetes or large knives attached to poles to slice down the ripe pods, taking care not to hurt nearby buds. The pods are split open by hand. The beans are scooped out and the outer shell is discarded. If you tasted a bean at this point you would notice a sweet, lemony flavor from the pulp. The actual bean would be bitter and hard to eat. SLIDE 3 Fermentation Once the cacao beans are scooped from the pods, they are fermented and dried in the two-step curing process that sets in motion the development of the flavor nuances which maketasting chocolate so exciting. Fermentation is the first critical process to develop...

...Systems Table of Contents Executive Summary 3 Introduction 4 Research Findings 5 Apple iPad 5 Toshiba Excite™ 13 6 Samsung Galaxy Note II 6 Recommendations 7 Conclusion 7 References 8 Executive Summary For a large company, with a large sales department, with many remote employees, three different technologies that have emerged within the last five years were looked at to compare features, usability, and size. I also looked at was how easy or difficult each device would be to set up, as well as how secure each device would be for employees to use. The devices were compared to find which device would be best to have each employee use. The Apple iPad is practical for small businesses because it can be set up for fewer users and it easy to use, as well as compact, which makes it easy to transport form office to office or from home to home for remote employees. Unfortunately, for large companies, the Apple iPad can be difficult to set up for multiple users on a single iPad. Setting up devices for each work station can be very costly, as it requires its own hardware for each workstation. The iPad runs faster with the A6X chip, which launches the applications faster and makes the device run faster. The device can support a wide range of virtual private networks, which makes the device secure. The Toshiba Excite 13 Tablet is a little bigger than the iPad, which can make it harder to transport, but easier to use when at home or in the office. It is about the...

Matthew Toenjes 2/17/2015 BE 401-004 Inside the Meltdown Review The 2008 Economic Recession was devastating to many. Corporate greed and overconfidence in the housing market were the main culprits to the economic downturn. As the US economy crashed, Wall Street and investors began to panic. This widespread panic was for good reason as huge multinational firms began to fail. One after another, these firms were about to go bankrupt. As the panic spread, stock prices began to plummet. As the US government tried to turn the economy around, it plunged further and further down. The effects of the recession not only hurt the US economy, but sent “shockwaves” throughout the world. I did not realize how close our economy was to collapsing. Ben Bernanke said, “If we don't do this tomorrow, we won't have an economy on Monday." When I heard this, it sent chills down my spine. How did we get so close to our economy collapsing? Toxic assets are one of the main reasons for our economy failing. These were loans given out to un-creditworthy individuals and unlikely to be repaid. To add to the problem, banks were issuing many of these high risk loans and the market became flooded with...

...Project: Project Part 1: Executive Summary First World Savings and Loan is a financial institution that processes credit card transactions and loan applications online. We are currently considering implementing an open source infrastructure. This could potentially save us over $4,000,000 per year in licensing fees for the software we are currently using. However, due to our business needs; we must still comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). We must comply with SOX, because we are a publicly-traded financial institution; PCI-DSS, because we process online credit card transactions; and GLBA, because we are a financial institution. All of the regulations of these three compliancy laws must be met, while still maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) triad. All security requirements for SOX, PCI-DSS, and GLBA can be achieved using Linux and open source infrastructure. Some examples of open source software that we might use are: Web Server - Apache Web Filtering - DansGuardian Network Firewall - Turtle Firewall VPN - Endian Firewall Community IDS/IPS - Suricata Database - MySQL File Server - Samba SMTP Server - hMailServer I would recommend that we use a "Defense in Depth" strategy, having multiple layers of access protection. We need to have an IDS/IPS on...

It first identify three main uses of the new computer system, which are studying, communication and entertainment, then relevant technical requirements with three price level are researched to satisfy these uses. It is found that most of the low price level components are out-of-date and with less compatibility due to the fast development of computer industry; on the other hand, the most expensive level is designed for business and group use. In that context, middle price for the essential components are preferred and some of the elements with low price are also acceptable as their performance can do little to the quality of the whole computer system. Do you think there is a large chance of cannibalization? If so, how can CUTCO avoid that? Pampered Chef offered its products for sale at Target in the past, but since the independent sales people build their own businesses and their incomes from sales of the same products, most of them were extremely upset with Pampered Chef, because they were essentially taking money right out of their sales' people's pockets. Pampered Chef ended up pulling its products and reverting to direct sales. Do you think the risk of upsetting and/or cannibalizing the direct sales force is worth the increase in revenues that would be realized by selling through other channels? What are some of your ideas for an approach that would allow CUTCO to capture that untapped revenue without negatively impacting its direct sales? ...Integrated Company Analysis Herman Miller: MLHR Nicholas Grant! Travis Campbell Brad Zoltak Marisol Serdiouk December 14th, 2009 Executive Summary Herman Miller, Inc. is a mid to high-end furniture manufacturer primarily concentrated in the business and institutional market. The industry is experiencing significant declines in sales due to poor macroeconomic conditions. The Company is well positioned as one of the top-tier firms in the industry, but its business model is highly sensitive to the overall economic cycle. First and foremost, Herman Miller needs to continue to successfully execute its core office furniture business. To reduce its vulnerability to downturns in the overall economy, Herman Miller should work to raise its brand awareness and fully leverage its products in adjacent markets. Recommendations • To ensure that Herman Miller capitalizes on its near 30-year expansion into the healthcare sector, the Company should increase the resources it dedicates towards healthcare and implement the following initiatives: o o Develop a patient bed to enable Herman Miller to offer a complete patient room solution. Consolidate its healthcare distribution network by appointing the best dealers in a given territory and enabling them to offer the Company’s full healthcare product line.
