EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Urinary incontinence (UI) is any involuntary leakage of urine. It is a common and distressing problem, which may have a profound impact on quality of life. Urinary retention also known as ischuria is a lack of ability to urinate. Urinary retention is characterized by poor urinary stream with intermittent flow, straining, a sense of incomplete voiding and hesitancy causing the bladder to remain full and requires a catheter for drainage. Urinary incontinence and retention are the 2 main reasons why personal urinals are used. The biggest issues dealing with personal urinals both in hospital and public settings are the embarrassingly disgusting odors left from residue urine and more importantly the potentially dangerous bacteria and viruses that could reside on your urinal.

We at Mario Medical, Inc. offer a solution to male and female urinal users with the Uri-mist. The Uri-mist is a portable personal urinal that has a built in spray mist system on the cap. This product is used like a normal urinal, where a user fills the urinal with urine content. When finished the urinal must be emptied and cleaned. The old process was to empty the urinal contents in the toilet, and then rinse the urinal out with water which will be disposed in the toilet. At this point some users are finished cleaning such as hospitals in most cases and those with dexterity issues while others use a more sterile method by cleaning the urinal with disinfectant or bleach mix that they have separately from the urinal to kill bacteria and viruses. We at Mario Medical, Inc. feel this process takes too long and might not be feasible for every user who wants a sanitized urinal. With the Uri-mist, after the user rinse the urinal with water, the user then can close the cap on the urinal. Once the cap is securely on the user then presses down on the spray cap releasing a disinfectant spray mist that will gradually cover and sanitize the entire urinal through gravity. The disinfectant spay used will be safe to the touch and will not cause irritation or harm to anyone who comes in contact with the spray Our product can cut cleaning time in half as well as implement a superior method of sanitizing your urinal with one built in product rather than using a combination of a urinal with separate products in the process.

With our product we hope to service the acute, non-acute, professional, long-term care and home healthcare markets. Our team is building a solid reputation in the home healthcare industry as a reliable manufacturer and supplier of the most comprehensive line of durable urinals. The Medical Instrument and Supply Manufacturing industry will generate sales revenue of $83709.4 million, which in real terms will be 3.6% higher (in 2008 dollars) than in 2007. This industry is estimated to contribute $57,071.6 million to the US economy. Medical Supplies generated 40.6% of sales revenue and is engaged in manufacturing medical appliances and supplies. Revenue from the sale of medical appliances and supplies accounts for 82% of revenue while the sales of personal industrial and non industrial products contribute 12% of revenue. Firms in the medical appliance and supplies product segment operate with gross margins of 43% to 45%. In comparison, operating margins are, on average 5% to 6%, while net profit before taxes are 5% to 6% of net sales. As a company starting out in this industry, Mario Medical has an opportunity to have a percentage of a 40.6% of $83.7 billion industry. The gross margin in this industry is the amount of contribution to our business enterprise, after paying for direct-fixed and direct-variable unit costs, required to cover overheads (fixed commitments) and provide a buffer for unknown items. Higher gross margins like 43-45% for our company would reflect greater efficiency in turning raw materials into income. Finally on average, Our Company would stand to clear 5-6% net profit from net sales. This means that any investors who invest in our company would stand to grow their investment 5-6% from their original venture.

As a small startup company we realize that we are entering into a mildly competitive industry that is on the rise due to medically technological advances. Our biggest advantage against competition will be due to patent protection. As of this moment our product is patent pending. Our biggest disadvantage against competition is price. As of right now, our cost per capita is higher than our competitions capita due to our small size and lack of brand awareness in the market. Our team’s main focus is on the increase in production of sales through brand management in the startup stage. Our distribution chain consists of our product being produced by an outside plastic manufacturer who will in turn send our company 10,000 finished units. Having a finished product, we can now distribute to retail healthcare suppliers who will have supplies delivered from a distributor’s warehouse. Generally, the retailer has an exclusive contract with a distributor. The retailer may negotiate prices with Mario Medical but places its purchases with the distributor. The distributor may also provide other services for the retailer, such as tracking inventory levels and providing rapid refilling of shelves, which allows the retailer to maintain low inventory levels and thereby reduce its inventory holding costs. Distributors maintain large warehouses throughout the country. Medical supplies are mostly dispensed by hospitals, independent healthcare suppliers and chain healthcare suppliers. In addition to the traditional physical supply chain, there is a secondary one which bypasses the traditional supply chain that is: Mario Medical to distributor to patient. It includes Internet sites, and telephone acquisitions.
