...Duterte reveals platform of government Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano were set to lay down their platform of government in a forum on Thursday (January 7) at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City. In a press conference prior to the event, Duterte revealed some plans he had once elected as president. He said that his administration would be "left leaning" and he has a socialist principle. Duterte said that he would push for an end to the insurgency problem with communist rebels, having direct contacts with the NPA-NDF leaders such as Joma Sison. Duterte also said that he was against contractualization of laborers and would push for reforms in the income tax law which will cover more exemptions such as for those earning below P20,000 a month. The Davao chief executive also said that he would not declare martial law — unlike the "doomsday" scenario painted by his opponents. "But I tell criminals not to push me to go the extreme," Duterte warned. Duterte also specifically said that he would end the problem of illegal drugs in just three to six months into his administration. Organizers and supporters of Duterte said that it would be the first time for the tandem to lay down their platform of government. Exercise 1

...Dear Junior Admin, I have read your email and the first thing that came to mind is for you to check the workstations using ipconfig /all and find out if the ip range is within the address range you assigned, if it is a different address then the workstation failed to contact the DHCP server and has gone into apipa mode. The Network Interface Card might be assigned an incorrect driver. Another possible cause of the problem is that the patch cable is not plugged into the Network Interface Card, or is not connected to a switch on the other end. However, it could be that the server has run out of IP addresses that it can assign to clients. Now if the machine reboots, it will ask for a new IP address from the DHCP, also you can check the system event log and DHCP server audit log files for details on any problems. Make sure the address scope has enough addresses if not widen the scope range. Check to see if it is a router/firewall problem and makes sure you have the service enable. If the OS is Windows XP, there is a known issue in which Winsock corruption has caused this exact issue. The server itself has to be assigned a static address in the same subnet range, such as 192.168.0.199. If this still doesn’t solve the problem make sure that the DHCP server is still authorized by the Active Directory to lease IP addresses. You should also check to verify that the scope is active, and that the necessary services are running on the DHCP server. If any of those suggestions doesn’t...

...NT1310 Unit 1 Exercise 1 6/17/14 The world is connected more than ever through the use of the internet. From paying bills to shopping or enjoying leisure time on the web; taking advantage of the internet has become second nature to society. Focusing in on one specific type of networking entertainment, online gaming has become a major league sport in its own right. Online gaming allows people from all around the world to connect together to team up or fight against one another. Behind the scenes is where the real magic happens. Between the gamers sits countless devices and hardware not to mention miles and miles of land. Using Call of Duty as an example, each gamer has a copy of the map being played on installed onto their local computer. Every time the gamer moves the direction of their character, their data is sent from their machine to their router, and then out past the demarc point. On the other side of the demarc is where the service provider picks up the data and moves the data from local network to the central office (better known as the local exchange). The central office then sends the data over the MAN (metro area network) or WAN (wide area network) to continue the data to game server. If the data hasn’t reached the server yet (for example the gamer lives in Michigan and the server is in California) the data will be passed over the core (also known as long-haul) network which connects MANs and WANs of different geographies together. On the off chance...

A strategy is a term used to describe the firm’s “overall efforts to gain and sustain competitive advantage” (Rothaermel, 2013, p. 9). The “translation of the strategy into action takes place in the firm’s business model, which details the firm’s competitive tactics and initiatives” (Rothaermel, p. 11). Basically, a strategy will explain how a firm will make money but the difference between a strategy and the business model is the business model explains how the firm intends to make the money AND puts it into action; the strategy just gives the theory. Business models put strategy into action. A strategy focuses on the company in relation to its competition and the business model focuses on the company in isolation. 1.1a. How they are similar is both business strategies and business models look toward a firm’s future and are both essential in decision-making within a company. A firm’s strategy and business model working hand in hand becomes the nuts and bolts behind how a firm intends to achieve its overall goal, which is to make and increase profit. Week 1 Exercise

...Week 1 Exercise 1. Describe a local land line phone system based on the following Landline Telephone Components: a. Local Loop The local loop is the physical wiring that connects you to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). This line can be a voice line, or it can be a data line. The physical wiring for the local loop consists of a pair of twisted copper wires that run from the telephone company's central office to the subscriber's premise and another pair of twisted copper wires that run back to the telephone company's Central Office1 b. Central Office A Central Office is part of the telephone network in your area. It is a building in which the phone lines in your home or office terminate and connect to a much larger switching system. In large metropolitan areas, Central Offices are more appropriately LOs (local offices), because they serve a local area. The term "Central Office" is from the early days of the telephone system when the local telephone company really did have only one central office in each area.1 c. Local Exchanges A telephone exchange is a telecommunications system used in the public switched telephone network or in large enterprises. An exchange consists of electronic components and in older systems also human operators that interconnect (switch) telephone subscriber lines or virtual circuits of digital systems to establish telephone calls between subscribers. Also referred to as the Central office. d. POP In the telephone system, the point...

Rothaermel Exercise 1

...Rothaermel Exercise 1 Perry Blankenship Liberty University Chapter 1 1. How is strategy different from a business model? A) Rothaermel (2013) defines a strategy as: “The goal-directed actions a firm intends to take in its quest to gain and sustain a competitive advantage,” (p.6). Rothaermel also defined a business model as: “An organizational plan that details the firm’s competitive tactics and initiatives, or how the firm intends to make money,” (p.11). The strategy is the theory the organization plans to utilize in achieving their goals while the model is their actions of implementing their strategy. Casadesus-Masanell and Ricart (2010) explained in their research that the strategy of a business is implemented by the leaders in choosing the business model they will follow. When organizations are looking for what customers they will reach and what the customer values, they are utilizing a business model. When they want to achieve the goal of reaching these customers they must develop a strategy for achieving that goal. B) How is it similar? Both the strategy and the business model strive to achieve the organizational goals and give the organization a competitive advantage. “The business model is the reflections of the realized strategy,” (Casadesus-Masanell and Ricart, 2010, p.204). 2. ...Diagnostic Assignment Our nation has faced an immeasurable amount of change over the years. There is an ongoing debate among the American people on whether the nation has made forward or declining process in areas such as healthcare, unemployment, and national security. There is a long and arduous road ahead of us, but by prioritizing these issues, we will be able to look back in four years and collectively agree that we, as a nation, have made forward progress. One of the biggest topics concerning the American people today is healthcare. The nation is divided into those who can reap the benefits of the Obama care policy and those who see its detriment. In order to grow as a nation, the policy’s effect should remain neutral for all Americans. To achieve this, healthcare cannot be mandated. There are various aspects of Obama care, which many Americans can benefit; however, those who do not seek the policy’s benefits should not be reprimanded for denying it. Under my charge, the Obama care policy will be revised to meet the baseline needs of all Americans. The unemployment rate in America has made a decline over the years, but the issue remains very relevant to the economic health of the nation. In May 2015, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a national unemployment rate of 5.5 percent. This is a drastic improvement from our 9.9 percent rate in 2009, but there is room for improvement when compared internationally. It will be my priority to bring jobs back to the American...

...The project of upgrading the company’s operating systems on all of the desktop and laptop computers will be performed by the IT department. To begin the project, a specified team will be brought together to formulate the strategy for testing, verifying and implementing the OS upgrades. The group will be comprised of approximately 10 members of the IT department. The initial task is to gather all information needed to perform the OS upgrades. This includes but is not limited to getting an accurate count of all workstations within the company with a breakdown of desktop or laptop designation. Next is to identify the OS currently on the workstation. Third is to begin collecting the OS upgrade and creating the package to install on the workstations. Fourth is to implement the OS upgrade on a group of test workstations and verify that the upgrade process will perform as needed without errors. Once the testing is completed, a timeline will need to be created in which the upgrades can be performed throughout the company without disrupting normal operations. The timeline needed to perform the OS upgrades can be fluid so as not to completely isolate any one department and has the potential of being performed during normal business hours on workstations not being used. This has the benefit of reducing the time needed to carry out the upgrades. The drawback is that as the workstations are conducting the upgrade, they will not be usable until the upgrade is complete. The identified...

...DNA Worksheet Casey Goodfellow 1/25/13 Answer the following in at least 100 words: 1. Describe the structure of DNA. 2. How does an organism’s genotype determine its phenotype? 3. Describe each stage of the flow of information starting with DNA and ending with a trait. DNA is something that makes up who and what we are. It’s our genetic makeup inside nearly every cell in a person’s body. DNA is located in the cell nucleus (where it is called nuclear DNA), but a small amount of DNA can also be found in the mitochondria (where it is called mitochondrial DNA or mtDNA). This paper will describe the structure of DNA, share how an organism’s genotype determines its phenotype, and in closing, the stages of the flow of information starting with DNA will be discussed. Well, DNA is made up of atoms bonded together. It is also a three dimensional structure which has been described as a double helix. According to Campbell, Essential Biology with Physiology, A molecule of DNA contains two polynucleotides, each a chain of nucleotides. Each nucleotide consists of a nitrogenous base, a sugar, and a phosphate group. Nucleotides are joined together by covalent bonds between the sugar of one nucleotide and the phosphate of the next. This results in a sugar-phosphate backbone, a repeating pattern of sugar-phosphate-sugar phosphate. The name, DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid, with nucleic referring to DNA’s location in the nuclei of eukaryotic cells...
