After reading Stranger Interlude, the readers learn that at the end of the play Nina agrees to marry Charlie Marsden; however, readers are able to argue that all the sufferings that occurred in this “strange interlude” could have not been avoid if she had married Charlie in the beginning of the play. Nina’s and Charlie’s relationship a compassionate friendship—a shoulder to lay on; therefore, that is the reason why Nina did not marry Charlie earlier—he is not a husband material.
