Explain Why Teens Need To Be More Alert During Class

How many times have you caught yourself bobbing your head and trying not to fall asleep in class? Teens are always wanting to sleep in but school gets in the way. School needs to start later so not just teens but teachers can also get more sleep and maybe be healthier too. Teens can also be more awake and alert during class and are more likely to stay awake and not to fall asleep. I think the kids brains need more time to wake up. Teachers and teens will probably also be in a more cheerful mood.
Let’s talk about why teens need to be more alert during class. Teens need to be more alert so their minds can take in information. If they are not alert they will not be able to learn. Learning is the whole point of school and teens could be half asleep

There are only 24 hours in a day, and as we get busier, we make everything but sleep a priority in our day. What we are really doing is setting ourselves up for destruction. When we are tired or under-rested, our brains cannot process things as accurately as they can when we have gotten a sufficient amount of sleep. William Dement expands on this in “Sleep Debt and The Mortgaged Mind”. “Sleep problems affect virtually every aspect of day-to-day living, including mood, mental alertness, work performance and energy level” (Epstein, 472).
