...qualification in comparison to men. The article notes that women are not well represented in the senior management ranks such as CEO and board positions. However, the gender based career discrimination has been declining over the decades, but its persistent raises many questions (Pfeffer 2). The author analyzes the questions that arise due to discrimination of women in work places. One of the most common questions the article addresses is on why women are disadvantaged in career tournaments in organizations. The author binds this question to the fact that power and political skill are bound with success in career. One way that can be used in understanding women’s underrepresentation is exploring the relationship between gender and the power dynamics. The article therefore goes deeper into exploring the relationship between gender and power. The author also notes that there is a difference between the rules for men and women in the game of power. He also looks into what can be done to make the rules different to build power for the women. The author gives and explains on theories that have evidence to explain on the issues of gender and power (Pfeffer 6). The article recognizes that there are so many studies that have been carried out and theories formulated on men and women concerning power. In the labor market for example, women are discriminated since they receive wages that are lower than those...

...Although I have spent most of my life in the temperate deciduous forests of the eastern United States, exploring different organisms and features of the temperate deciduous forests has still been very interesting. There are temperate deciduous forests of the world are in Japan, China, the eastern United States, Canada, Europe, parts of Russia. Over the past few weeks, I have been exploring the temperate forests of several countries. In the temperate deciduous forest, there are four seasons: summer, fall, winter, and spring. Temperate deciduous forests are the second rainiest biome. There are about 30-60 inches of precipitation annually. It is typically hot in summer and cold in the winter. The average annual temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit....

Skilled Leaders are critical to the success level of any venture, both profit and non-profit. This was validated in the research Jim Collins and his team conducted for his book, Good to Great. They confirmed that the most successful organizations had skilled Transforming Leaders at the helm. (Jim Collins called them Level 5 Leaders.) Our research, however, has shown that fewer than 1 in 10 professionals (as observed in video-taped assessment sessions) have competency in the whole range of skills to Level 4 competency (scores of 7 to 8). And even fewer individuals have the abilities—Level 5 competency, scores of 9...

...Jessica Rose December 13, 2015 Student ID# 277419 XTT Task 1 BSN to MSN A Currently in my facility, we do not have a policy regarding geriatric and/or demented patients and pain control. I believe this needs to be changed because although we have an initial assessment protocol, we do not have any kind of protocol to control a geriatric or demented patients pain. Since demented patients are quite often left unable to communicate their feelings, I believe there would be, less adverse effects and better patient outcomes for this group of people and better satisfaction with their families. B There are many people associated with proposing the change within the facility. First would be to go through the assistant nurse manager and nurse manager who would then bring the proposal to the nursing and medical directors for the ER. The ANM and NM would have to decide whether the proposed change would be beneficial for the patients and their outcomes and do further research which they would then propose to the directors. From there, they would decide whether the research was sufficient enough to implement a change. C Full APA citation for at least 5 sources | Evidence Strength (1-7) and Evidence Hierarchy | 1. ...Study of Attitude, Empathy, and Human Uniqueness of Emotion in Animals Abstract This correlational study was conducted to determine and explore the relationships between empathy, attitudes towards animals, and beliefs about human uniqueness of emotion. This was a quasi- experimental because we studied man versus women and also pet owners versus non-pet owners. We expected to find a positive correlation between the empathy and AAS score. While also exploring the relationships between the HUES and empathy or AAS score. We predicted that women would have higher empathy and AAS scores than men as well as pet owners having higher AAS scores than non- pet owners. This study was conducted in New York, where 60 voluntary participants completed surveys. The results of the study illustrated and provided a statistically significant positive correlation between scores on the E-Scale and the AAS and a significant negative correlation between scores on the E-Scale and HUES and well as between the AAS and the HUES. There was also a significant gender difference in AAS scores with women having more positive attitudes toward animals compared to men. However, there was no significant gender difference in HUES scores. Similarly, there were significant effects of pet ownership on both E-Scale scores and on AAS scores. Specifically, pet owners had higher levels of empathy and also had more positive attitudes toward animals compared to non-pet owners. There was no significant effect of pet ownership...

Charts: Bar, pie, histograms, line charts, scatter plots, etc., for exploring relationships as they pertain to success c. In all comparisons, comment on the results and interpret findings as they pertain to the Key Objective. Solution: Seating: The mean and median profit is high with seating option. Store Size: VL store size has maximum profit as compare to other store size. Liquor License: The store which is having Liquor License has more profit. We can see as the student population grows the monthly profit will also grow. Review in local newspaper: Review does not seem to be have impact on the profit because there does not seem to be any difference in the profit because mean is small for positive rating and median is high for positive rating. The pizza variety does not have any impact on the profit. Delivery option: The stores provides delivery option have high mean and median profit as compare to the store which does not provide any delivery...

...[TYPE THE COMPANY NAME] Human Sexuality Article Summary 2 Exploring Relationships Among Communication, Sexual Satisfaction, and Marital Satisfaction Litzinger, S., and Gordon, K. C. (2005). Exploring relationships among communication, sexual satisfaction, and marital satisfaction. Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, 31, 409-424. The purpose of the study conducted by S. Litzinger and K.C. Gordon was to study how sexual satisfaction and communication within a relationship influence each other, and how this influence contributes to the prediction of marital satisfaction. The effects of these constructs were studied both independently and jointly. The researchers hypothesized that strengths in one area would compensate for weaknesses in other areas and this compensation would result in greater overall marital satisfaction. According to Litzinger and Gordon (2005), “It has been demonstrated that communication behaviors and interaction patterns clearly are related to marital satisfaction; however, an examination of the literature indicates that communication skills in and of themselves are not the sole determinants of marital happiness” (p.410) There is a strong connection between communication and marital satisfaction, but the connection is complex and affected by other influences in the marriage. Research indicates that unhappy couples lack the skills necessary to communicate successfully. This lack of communication skills leads to emotional distancing...

...other students thought that the red color could actually be a mixture of color. Plan an experiment to investigate if the pigment in red flowers consists of one or more colors. In your investigation think about how you can extract the pigment and check whether it consists of one or more color. PLAN FOR INVESTIGATION A. Purpose of the Investigation The purpose of this investigation is to know whether the pigment in red flowers consist one or more colors. The goal of this experiment is to analyze the pigments found in flowers using paper chromatography. B. Materials/ Apparatus The materials used in this experiment include filter paper, scissors, pencil, ruler, clean jar or drinking glass, large- mouth glass jar, water (at least 60 mL, distilled water is preferable, but tap water is also suitable), 70% isopropyl alcohol, measuring cup, piece of scratch paper, coin, timer or clock, and of course red flower petals. You will need at least 2 flower petals from at least 3 different plants. Tip: Larger petals work better than smaller petals. C. Steps/ Procedure Cut the chromatography filter paper into strips that are about 2 cm wide and as long as the large-mouth glass is tall (the strips should all be the same size). You will want to make at least three strips for each flower you want to investigate, or a minimum total of nine strips. Use a ruler and pencil to draw a line across each paper strip, horizontally, 2 cm from the bottom, as shown in Figure 1. This is the...

...Reintegration is a general term that refers to whenever an institutionalized individual or someone who has spent a majority of their time in prison is allowed to undergo a process in which they can successfully re-enter society as a person and therefore reduces recidivism. This is unlike the punishment-centered process that convicted individuals go through in the correctional model that is found in most jails today (Stohr, Walsh, &Hemmens, 2008; Whitehead, Jones, &Branswell, 2008). The latter has individuals undergo a procedure that tries to decrease the chance of them repeating whatever behavior lead to their conviction by taking away something they want or isolating them from society. However, reintegration often does not aid the individual...
