The adoration of the mystic lamb was created by jan and hubert Eyck in 1432. It has a strong history as one of the most significant art pieces of the renaissance. It was reassembled, stolen and cleaned. In fact the prior knowledge of the piece being seen by us was after world war 2, In 2010 they finally received a grant for the altarpiece, where they now focused on the pieces condition and stabilizing it, additional funds also allowed for a committee of Dutch historians to overlooked its condition assessment.
That resulted in a full conservation treatment of the altarpiece. This resulted in the discovery of unprecedented detail in the portrait. They found a way to peek beyond the paint with IRR and x radiography. It is bigger than a barn
