We believe DMP may offer a long term upside if it can successfully execute its business plan of opening new stores and maintaining its same store sales growth in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and France, Netherlands, and Belgium (Europe). Highlights Future growth driven by increasing store count: DMP currently owns over 900 stores, with the goal of opening 50-60 new stores per year over the next 5 years. Its franchise/corporate strategy allows a long-term target of 750 stores in ANZ over the next 5 years and 1250 stores in Europe over the next 15 years. ...Biofuel * Introduction Biofuels are a wide range of fuels which are in some way derived from biomass. The term covers solid biomass, liquid fuels and various biogases. Biofuels are produced from living organisms or from metabolic by-products (organic or food waste products). In order to be considered a biofuel the fuel must contain over 80 percent renewable materials. It is originally derived from the photosynthesis process and can therefore often be referred to as a solar energy source. There are many pros and cons to using biofuels as an energy source. Biofuels don’t contribute to global warming and they emit less particulate pollution than other fuels, especially diesel. They are also renewable sources of energy as you can just keep producing more. They reduce greenhouse gas emissions when compared to conventional transport fuels. Actually biofuels are not carbon neutral simply because it requires energy to grow the crops and convert them into fuel. The amount of fuel used during this production (to power machinery, to transport crops, etc) does have a large impact on the overall savings achieved by biofuels. Biofuels prove to be substantially more environmentally friendly than their alternatives. Biofuels can be made from many sources such as plant material, fungi and algae and since these source are available in abundance and can potentially reproduced on a massive scale they are an energy source that is potentially unlimited, this will end our need to depend on other...

In this randomized, controlled, double-blind trial, 36 overweight or obese adults were treated with 2 g/d of algal DHA or placebo for 4.5 mo. Markers of cardiovascular risk were assessed before and after treatment. In the DHA-supplemented group, the decrease in mean VLDL particle size (P # 0.001) and increases in mean LDL (P # 0...

...Email: ch8136@stu. edu. tw Abstract In recent years, the study affective factor selection (AFs) for Kansei engineering (KE) has been an important issue in the industrial design field. Consumers’ affective responses (CARs) are usually presented in the form of a choice of adjectives. Based on the KE concept, this study conducted Factor Analysis (FA), Clustering Analysis (CA) and Procrustes Analysis (PA) to select the CARs from mobile phones product’s shape. First, in the initial stage of the study, 60samples of mobile phones were collected from the fashion market place. Twenty-two pairs of adjectives describing the mobile phones were used for a Semantic Differential (SD) experiment. K-means was implemented to find the clustering segmentations of the CARs according to the factor loading from FA, and to obtain representative pairs of adjectives within the clustering segmentations. In the meanwhile, PA was also used to decide adjective priorities according to the sorting rule. Finally, these two methods were analyzed and compared. Keywords: Kansei engineering, Affective factor, Methodology, Clustering analysis, Procrustes analysis. Introduction In the field of consumer market, the appearance of a product tends to be an important factor affecting consumers’ purchasing decision making. If product designers can notice product forms features selection (PFFs), they can effectively meet the expectations of consumers. Therefore, during the development of a new product...

...SOFT SYSTEMS METHODOLOGY Soft Systems - Modified December 2005 Bob Williams 1 bobwill@actrix.co.nz The Kellogg Foundation http://users.actrix.co.nz/bobwill SOFT SYSTEMS METHODOLOGY Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) was developed by Peter Checkland in the late 60’s at the University of Lancaster in the UK. Originally it was seen as a modelling tool, but in later years it has been seen increasingly as a learning and meaning development tool. Although it develops models, the models are not supposed to represent the “real world”, but by using systems rules and principles allow you to structure your thinking about the real world. The models are neither descriptive or normative, though they may carry elements of both. One of the interesting things about SSM is that it constrains your thinking in order for you to expand your thinking. Thus blowing away the idea that system thinking is always expansive. Like many other systems approaches the heart of SSM is a comparison between the world as it is, and some models of the world as it might be. Out of this comparison arise a better understanding of the world ("research"), and some ideas for improvement ("action"). In classic SSM the researchers begin with a real-world problem (or perhaps “situation” is a better word). They study the situation in a fairly unstructured way. Following this, they develop some models of that situation. The particular strength of SSM for evaluators is that it can be used to untangle the evaluative lessons...

Subsequently, an action plan has been proposed. Based on my assessment, I recommend continuing with the agency operations and renegotiating with JOSH after eight months. An investment of ₹18,000 per month should be made towards additional manpower and the 30% drop in margins should be supported temporarily. After eight months, a remuneration of 3% of total sales should be renegotiated with JOSH. Yours sincerely, Ketan Murali External Consultant to Logistics Solutions EXECUTIVE SUMMARY RDS wants to decide on the course of action to address a decrease of 30% in its profit margins following a policy change by JOSH. Renegotiation for the next eight months seems unlikely. RDS can either continue with operations and renegotiate after eight months or give up operations completely...

...Reservoir). The mean concentrations of Ca, Cd, Fe and Mn were significantly greater at the River Chenab heronry and Cr, Co, Zn, and Pb concentrations at the River Ravi heronry. The feathers of cattle egrets collected from the Rawal Lake Reservoir heronry were least contaminated. Multivariate statistical methods viz., Factor Analysis based on Principal Component Analysis (FA/PCA); Hierarchical Cluster analyses (HACA), and Correlation Analyses identified relatively similar associations of metals and their sources of input. Metals such as Ca, Mg, and K were related with natural input from parent rock material whereas trace metals viz., Cu, Cd, Co, Pb, Ni, and Zn were associated mainly with anthropogenic processes. Metals such as Fe, Mn, and Li were either correlated with natural input or with anthropogenic activities. Concentration of heavy metals such as Cd, Pb, and Cr were well above the threshold level that can cause adverse effects in birds and pose menace to the cattle egrets population in Pakistan. The study suggested that the feathers of cattle egret could be used as a bio-monitor of the local heavy metals contamination. Keywords Heavy metals Á Multivariate analysis Á...

The other types of caloric sweeteners include corn syrup, honey and other edible syrups like sorghum. In the United States, the most frequently consumed sweeteners are sugar and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Sugar, or sucrose, is a carbohydrate that occurs naturally in every fruit and vegetable. It is the major product of photosynthesis, the process by which plants transform solar energy into food. Two plants that produce large amounts of sugar from this process are sugarcane and sugarbeets. Refined sugar from each of these plants is indistinguishable. Sugarbeets are similar to red beets in shape but have a larger white root and are inedible when harvested. They are susceptible to numerous diseases and...
