...When Mark Zuckerberg was working on improving popularity of his social network website back in 2005, I was just another student living in college dorms enjoying social experience. At that time facebook was mostly available only at selected colleges and was just making its way through to open public. When I first registered myself on it, I had to indicate what school I go to and prove that I was a student. Although there were many skeptical people about it, I was pretty convinced for some reason that facebook was going to be big. And I need to admit that I was more in to myspace in the beginning, facebook totally “stole” my heart with time going by. In the very beginning it was difficult for me to see any possible advantages coming from being a part of another social network that really did not show benefits at all. Why did I do it though? Maybe out of boredom, maybe I was looking for something that would finally work out for me when it comes to staying in touch all of my friends spread literally all over the world. Yea, there are instant messaging communicators available and yea we talked a lot with each other, but I think all of were looking for something more than just the opportunity of conversation and status updates. What strikes me the most about it is its functionality and high intelligence (if you can even say that about social network). You probably know that whenever you register somewhere, you have to make strives for finding your friends and it really takes time...

...CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION Background: Whenever we log in to our Facebook accounts, we see their slogan on their homepage which is “Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.” But nowadays, far from what Mark Zuckerberg’s aim is in creating Facebook, it has turned more into a source of entertainment rather than it means for communication. As this social networking site continues to add and upgrade its features, the means of sharing happenings in someone’s life to the public have widened. Posting videos became available because sometimes pictures are not enough. Hashtags that were only seen in Twitter before have also become available in Facebook so that we can easily filter topics and would be able to keep up with “what’s in”. The additional features improved the quality of service Facebook provides and made it easier to keep up with the latest happenings not only within our circle of friends, but also to our whole community. These advancements have helped some Facebook users to bridge the gap between them and their loved ones . But somehow, others ended up abusing it. The video of the “amalayer” girl in 2012 became viral in Facebook. It had been shared from one’s profile to another and received various reactions from different people may it be positive or negative. People also found social issues entertaining by means of making memes. Instead of taking these seriously and participating in sensible debates, some just tend to shrug these off. This...
