A psychological cognitive bias related to how a person's expectations or the degree to which something stands out can affect observations. Selective perception can be used by a business to target its marketing campaigns to influence and appeal to desirable potential customers for its product or service. Facebook research examines privacy in online social networking sites, aiming to improve the security and privacy management of personal information. As a first step, Facebook is examining and proposing improvements to current privacy mechanisms. This addresses one aspect of the problem: improving the ability of users to manage their privacy if they desire. Facebook is extremely popular and has numerous information disclosure categories and also has more extensive privacy settings than similar sites. Facebook is making up a new interface, for managing privacy settings in Facebook that focuses around the audience point of view. Although, Facebook has an uncontrollable access to everybody’s data, regardless privacy settings, even users who adjust those settings can be surprised by where their information winds up. Facebook had an overall increase in certain digital problems such as ID thefts, phishing schemes, and security breaches in the past year, while issues related malware and unauthorized credit charges are occurring neither more nor less frequently than in the prior 12 months. What influenced my decision was all of the review that I saw.
