...Facility Planning Part 1 HCS/446 June 24, 2013 Royann Schmidgall Facility Planning Part 1 There are numerous stages involved when stakeholders think about remodeling or building a new facility. There are three specific stages when deciding to remodel or build. Stage one is the planning and defining the hospital project. This includes a strategic plan, needs assessment, and concept design. Stage two is the design development, schematic design, construction documentation, and building permits. Stage three involves the financial aspect of planning. During this phase bidding, licensing, construction, and evaluation are taking place (California Healthcare Foundation, n.d.). According to Tradition Medical Center (2013), “Martin Health System is a not-for-profit, community-based health care organization that has served the region for more than 70 years” (para. 6). This paper will outline the need for a new building, the population it is serving, a description of the new building, and a URL link for the floor plan for review. Community and Facility Needs Martin Health System has served the local community for more than 70 years. According to Martin Health System (2013) their “mission is to provide exceptional health care, hope, and compassion to every patient, every time” (para. 6). ...FACILITY PLANNING: SUTTER EXPRESS CARE Evelia Anaya-Fernandez HCS 446 July 29, 2014 Jacqueline Tobar FACILITY PLANNING: SUTTER EXPRESS CARE In reference to choosing a facility close to my living area, surprisingly I found Sutter Express Care located in an actual Rite Aid on Del Paso Road. Sutter Express Care is basically a walk-in medical clinic, which is located inside of the local Rite Aid store(s) right next to their pharmacy. The facility appears to be small, provides quick, efficient, convenient health care for common health care conditions, and is available to treat individuals who are not able to see their doctor. Patients will be able to see a nurse practitioner/physician assistant, get prescriptions, and get back on the road in no time. Going to a Sutter Express Care would be efficient enough for visits to take 20-30 minutes, no appointments necessary, no insurance necessary (whereas most health plans are accepted), is affordable for a flat rate of $75, and is open 7 days a week. It is open for practically anyone who is 18 months of age or older, you do not have to see a Sutter doctor, and at the end of a patients visit they provide directions for follow-up care and report to the patients doctor. Each clinic is staffed by an actual nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant who has advanced training and will be able to diagnose and be able to properly prescribe medication for common conditions. Sutter Express Care clinics provide additional medical services...

...Facility Planning – Facility Selection: Part 1 & 2 In health care there are many different facility types; one in particular is an outpatient clinic. Outpatient clinics are facilities which provide medical care and treatments that do not require an overnight stay in a medical facility or hospital. An outpatient care can be managed in a medical office or even in a hospital, but mostly services are provided in a medical office or in an outpatient surgery center (About Careers, 2014). One facility in particular is the Clarksville Community Based Outpatient Clinic located in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Clarksville outpatient clinic first opened up in the year 2000 and started providing services for all veterans in the Kentucky and also Tennessee areas. This is a most active clinic, with close proximity to the Fort Campbell base, for the Operation Iraqi freedom/ Operation Enduring freedom returnees (Department of V.A., 2014). The Clarksville Community Based Outpatient Clinic provides primary care as well as mental health services to all veterans of the area. Also provided in the facility are laboratories for blood drawings and prescription services are provided as well. This particular outpatient clinic has recently undergone a new renovation this year to add on more patient rooms to recruit new patients as well as more employees to serve all of the individuals of the clinic (Department of V.A., 2014). The Clarksville veteran’s population had been served by the Department of Veterans...

...Randall Webb Health care facilities have changed throughout the years they have improved in services that they provide as well as they assumed different sizes and shapes. Health care facilities no longer have the cold feeling and distinctive smell that the use to. The building looks more like the community that their located in and they also cater more to the community. Patients expect to receive the best care possible and physicians want to provide the best care to their patients. Physicians strive on ensuring their patients are satisfied and comfortable with their services from the minute they walk into the facility. In order to provide excellent care physicians should have the right tools and area to perform care or service to their patients. Physician should decide on where to serve, who to serve and what is need to provide service. One important step begins with finding the right facility to run their business. This paper will describe the location of Downriver Medical Associates and services they provide to the community along with their future plans. ...Facility Planning-Floor Plan: Part 1 HCS446 June 6, 2016 Diane Moon Facility Planning-Floor Plan: Part 1 In designing the Kelly Family health Center (Appendix Fig 1) through the use of the Medscape application was both fun and eye opening. The level of detail and thought that one must consider when designing a facility came full circle. As the designer I was force to consider details such as layout of furniture, equipment to be used, storage spaces, layout patient care area, nurses’ station and administration space. The rules and regulation from federal, state and local agencies were also factored during the design process. Steps to Complete Floor Plan. All Facility design and construction projects must comply with all applicable state building code requirements and all applicable local, state, and federal agency regulations. Health care Facility Regulation (HFR), a division of the Department of Community Health (DCH), is responsible for health care planning, licensing, certification and oversight of various health care facilities and services in my home state of Georgia. Most government agencies expect health facilities to conform to the mandatory standard. According to The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) “A mandatory standard is generally published as part of a code, rule or regulation by a regulatory government body and imposes an obligation on specified parties to conform to it” (The National Institute of Standards and Technology...

In the development of a new long-term care facility for Greenwood, Mississippi, strategic facility planning will be the key to its success. There is a need for the small town of Greenwood to have a long-term care facility that caters to the needs of the aging adults. This facility will provide the type of residential care not given at surrounding facilities. It will give the community the opportunity to reconnect with its aging population while providing high-demand services. Facility Description Golden Health and Rehabilitation (GHR) will be a new facility built from the ground up. The structure will be a single level 180-bed facility with the latest technology. GHR will provide 24-hours, seven days a week care for residents. The facility will offer outpatient rehabilitation services, restorative exercise programs, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Its clinical department will specialize in caring for many forms of illness and afflictions not available at other surrounding long-term care facilities. There will be two special care units. One unit will care for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s and the other for...

...The Shore Facilities Planning system is a data base that assists Commander, Navy Installation Command, Navy Enterprises in making decisions concerning the acquisition, disposal and management of its capital assets, Iike facilities, its land and shore infrastructure. The military readiness, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the Navy depend on the availability and condition of its assets. The goal of the Shore Facilities Planning Process is to achieve mission readiness. The Shore Facility Planning Process is a critical part of the Navy's process of maintaining land and shore facilities. It precedes the facility programming, budgeting, funding and implementation phases necessary for prudent management of Navy's facilities. It is a process that analyzes existing facilities and their conditions; the facilities needed to perform assigned mission; existing facilities use; and how to achieve efficient facility utilization, thus minimizing facility footprint. It is a tool used to develop and implement site-specific solution necessary to successfully acquire, maintain, optimally utilize, and dispose of shore assets. It allows planners to locate surplus facilities that may be appropriate to help satisfy other identified facility deficiencies, in order to enhance efficient utilization of existing assets and to improve mission capability. The first slide shows how the Shore Facility Planning System fits into the Navy's broader planning and asset management efforts. The SFPS process consists...

...During the initial planning and design process construction and operational requirements of a commercial airport are established. The requirements are governed by the FAA under airport certification requirements identified in 14 CFR 139. Security systems, methods, and procedures within the construction and operational process are the obligation of TSA. The Federal Security Director (FSD) is the designated TSA official that approves the required Airport Security Program (ASP) document, the document identifies how the airport will meet security requirements. The FSD and local FAA Airports Division officials should be consulted during all phases of the project. Airport operators must integrate a Safety Management System process into their overall plan in accordance with FAA rules. Airports must establish hazard reporting systems, a risk assessment process, and a risk mitigation and assurance process with the participation of airport management. The best way to implement security in a facility is through advance planning and continuous monitoring throughout the project. Selecting, constructing, or modifying a facility without considering security for the general public, the facility, passengers, and airport and air carrier personnel can result in costly modifications. All physical security upgrades should be based on applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the protection of all persons and assets (including information systems and...

...Facility Planning Part 1 Shirley Doctor HCS/466 Facility Planning Dr. Michael Snell September 8, 2013 Franklin C. Fetter Outpatient Clinic Strategic Planning is an essential first step in the development of a result-base accountability system,” (Schilder, 2013, p. 1). In strategic planning an organization must know their goals, missions, and how to reach them. Health care facilities are in huge demand for the elderly and for people who lives in low-income communities. A person who receives good quality health care services can prevent the spread of contagious diseases. This paper will describe the need of the community, population it is serving, and a brief description of the facility. Franklin C. Fetter Family Health Center (FCFFHC) is an outpatient clinic and has served the communities, and the surrounded rural areas since 1975. This health center is greatly needed in the rural and low-income communities because the people could not get to their local hospital. Therefore, the people in those communities were not getting the necessary medical health care needed. Dr. Franklin C. Fetter, the Dean of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, and founder, provided culturally sensitive comprehensive primary health and home care services to children, and adults as part of a demonstration grant under the Medical University in 1968, (FCFFHC, 2013). The center offers support to the community by sponsoring health awareness campaigns, health fairs, and through their...

...Overview Simplicity in design and restraint in construction creates park facilities suited to what attracts visitors in the first place – recreation in the natural park landscape. q The aim of Park Design Guidelines & Data is to help BC Parks staff use their park expertise to produce appropriate facility landscapes. These guidelines identify design criteria and planning processes for BC Parks staff to provide sustainable, appropriate park recreation facilities. They promote facility design that requires the least visible development. q A design approach to visitor facilities is defined that: Recognizing the facilities are an integral part of a park means reducing the impact of use and basing planning and design decisions on local and regional considerations – for the park environment’s long term health. Maintaining natural park landscapes and environments will help ensure the quality of visitor experiences now and in the future. At neighbouring Bromley Rock Provincial Park and Stemwinder Provincial Park, illustrated left, natural site elements create facilities that blend into the natural park landscapes. These examples show the careful expenditure of resources and the thoughtful use of native materials. What is natural, and what has been constructed? blends with, or complements, natural park landscapes conserves or restores park environments q A design and planning process is outlined for BC Parks project teams to achieve these objectives...
