...Factors Affecting Study Habits of Students In: People Factors Affecting Study Habits of Students Chapter I Introduction Research Background Teachers are educators that teach us what we must learn. They are one of the most inspiring people not only in school but also within our nation. They help us to achieve our goals and dreams in life, and the ones who shape every person’s character. We consider them as our second parents who guide and lead us to the right path. And it truly proves that all educators are such a magnificent person. According to Benito (2000), the best hope for education lies with the teacher; his education is of primary importance. She explained that the quality of education the teacher has to transmit to his students largely depends on the quality of his education. The teacher’s best teaching device is herself (Adams, 1994). It follows then that in order to be an effective communication of knowledge; the teacher should have sufficient background of the subject matter that he/she teaches. In Teaching, Every educator must master his/her lesson plan. And everything that a teacher will teach to his student must be based on her own learning and experiences. Every teacher has their own way of providing knowledge to their students. They have their techniques in teaching for the student to better understand everything about their lesson. There are so many factors that affect students’ performance, and it includes the way of how the teachers communicate to...

...One of the most important tips for parents to help their kids do better at school is to establish a daily routine. A successful school day begins the morning before school. Actually, success begins the previous night. Homework should be completed, put in the correct notebook or folder, and packed to take to school. To find them easily the next morning, backpacks and anything else needed for school should be kept in the same place. Children do better in school when families eat dinner together. This time allows family members to discuss the day. Dinner is an excellent time to talk about worries or problems and think about possible solutions. Your child will benefit from open communication during this family ritual. The night before a school day provides more time to lay out clothes for the morning. Doing this helps avoid rushing to get dressed and eat breakfast before school. Parents especially need to be firm about going to bed and getting up on time. Older children should use alarm clocks and be held responsible for waking up and getting ready for the day. Share Information with Teachers and School Staff Teachers need to know that parents are interested in their child’s education. Parents should show this interest at the beginning of the school year. Become acquainted with your child’s teacher and other staff. Attend school events as much as possible. These activities provide opportunities to ask questions about teaching methods and what your child will be learning. A...

...The current territories of Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan form the core countries of South Asia, while Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives are generally included, and Afghanistan and Myanmar often added. Hinduism Atman Atman means 'eternal self'. The atman refers to the real self beyond ego or false self. It is often referred to as 'spirit' or 'soul' and indicates our true self or essence which underlies our existence. There are many interesting perspectives on the self in Hinduism ranging from the self as eternal servant of God to the self as being identified with God. The understanding of the self as eternal supports the idea of reincarnation in that the same eternal being can inhabit temporary bodies. The idea of atman entails the idea of the self as a spiritual rather than material being and thus there is a strong dimension of Hinduism which emphasises detachment from the material world and promotes practices such as asceticism. Thus it could be said that in this world, a spiritual being, the atman, has a human experience rather than a human being having a spiritual experience. Reincarnation the Hindu knows that the belief in a single life on earth, followed by eternal joy or pain is utterly wrong and causes great anxiety, confusion and fear. Hindus know that all souls reincarnate, take one body and then another, evolving through experience over long periods of time. Like the caterpillar's metamorphosis into the butterfly, death doesn't end our existence but frees...

...1 WHAT IS A FIELD STUDY? The field study is an integral part of the HDSR Program, and is the basis for much of the upper level course work required by our majors. The field study allows students to: • gain experience in integrating the theoretical perspectives learned in the classroom with experiences gained in the field; • achieve insight into the workings of an organization; • become more conscious of the relationship of social roles, institutional dynamics, and larger cultural systems. When students return to campus, Field Study Seminar assists students in analyzing and interpreting their experiences, culminating in a major academic paper. An HDSR field study differs from a conventional internship or practicum in important ways. The main difference lies in the purpose. The primary purpose of a conventional internship or practicum is for the student to perform a job and learn skills that will be useful in a future career. In contrast, the HDSR Field Study is an ethnographic research project. Its main purpose is for the student to hone his or her analytical skills and gain insight into the dynamics of the organization in larger societal context. That is not to say that the job, in and of itself, is not important. HDSR students are expected to work diligently, and make every effort to contribute to the organization in positive ways, along with the added dimension of observing and analyzing the organization. An HDSR field study might be thought of as a conventional internship/practicum...

...ways, but they all effectively talk about the ’rules of the language’. Grammar does not equal only ’tenses’ or verb forms. Grammar is language and how we use it. What is more important than a definition of the word ’grammar’ is knowing what students need to know when they are learning grammar. And we also need to know different ways to teach grammar. There are many different methods to teach grammar, but the three that might be the most effective in retaining student interest are the following: 1. Situational Presentations 2. Text and Recordings 3. Test Teach Test 1. Teaching grammar via Situational Presentation I. What do students need to know? When presenting new language, the teacher must show following things very clearly: MPF: There are several aspects of a new item: that you need to know and learners need to learn. 1. What it means. They need to understand meaning within the given context. 2. What it sounds like. They need to know the natural pronunciation and spelling of the language. 3. What it looks like. They need to know how to form the language (how it is constructed). 4. How and when it is used. They need to know the function of the language. (This is often referred to as, MPF.) As well as knowing the MPF, students need to use the language - practice. Presentation is a rather controversial word! Experienced teachers know how best to develop a student’s awareness of the language without falling into the ’today we are going to do conditional sentences’...
