...Faith Integration Paper Starting a new journey in life is always exciting but rather scary in certain aspects. This journey I decided upon in a short amount of time has been extremely self evaluating and very fulfilling. The journey I speak of is the beginning of my experience in the ADP Program of Human Resources at Geneva College. The ADP Program of Human Resources at Geneva struck my fancy upon finding out that not only is it well located, but I would receive my Bachelors Degree by September 2016. The program is conveniently located at Boyce Campus in Monroeville which is fairly close to my boyfriend, Bob’s house. Not only is it convenient, but it is also important to the purpose of my discipline which is to become more knowledgeable in the Human Resource field and increase the possibility for a step-up in job classification. Becoming more knowledgeable in the Human Resources area in my current job status, in my opinion, would make me a more valuable employee to the company. The company I am currently working for is the Community College of Allegheny County, South Campus located in West Mifflin. I am working for the college as a Senior Secretary in the Admissions Office. Obtaining my Bachelors Degree in Human Resources will allow me to someday gain an opportunity in working in a different field other than Admissions. I also believe the purpose of my discipline in the Human Resources Program is to become more aware of HR policies and procedures and be able to better...

...Faith Integration Paper Vivian Li Azusa Pacific University UNRS 404 – Nursing Care of Children Professor Janette Tingson July 18, 2016 Faith Integration Paper Child abuse is a serious problem that can have lasting harmful effects on its victims. The goal in preventing child abuse is to stop this violence from happening in the first place. Safe and stable environment for all children can prevent abuse and help all children reach their full potential (Children’s Bureau, 2016). Child abuse and neglect are complex problems rooted in unhealthy environments. According to CDC (2016), preventing child abuse and neglect requires a comprehensive approach that influences all levels of the social societal culture, community involvement, relationships among families and neighbors, and individual behaviors. “Effective prevention strategies focus on modifying policies, practices, and societal norms to create safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments” (CDC, 2016). Parenting is one of the toughest and most important jobs, and we all have a stake in ensuring that parents have access to the resources and support they need to be successful. Entire communities can play a role in helping families find the strength they need to raise safe, healthy, and productive children. As a Christian and a nurse, I believe to prevent child abuse is one of our mission that God given us, we should get to know our neighbors, because we all know that problems seem less overwhelming when support...

...Faith Integration Paper (Relationship between God, Family, Society) In the field and study of computer science in relation to one’s relationship to others, I believe they can co-exist and that computer science can complement the Christian faith, if kept in perspective. For example, both computer science and Christianity affect the lives of other’s worldwide, especially loved ones at large. As computer science makes technological advances and progresses in discovering and applying new technology, we are able to do more in reaching out and keeping in touch with those who are close to us, for example our parents, society and, more importantly to God. With this in mind, the opportunities are limitless as knowledge increase and evolve, intertwining into the fabric of our relationship to others, thus benefiting others in an ever changing world. Computer science provides an opportunity to learn various ways of communicating to our family with knowledge and information and to others in many areas that would have been very difficult to access otherwise. One fine example is keeping in touch with loved ones who live overseas or perhaps maintain that important continuity of relationship, by letting others know that they are loved and respected. With computer technology, there are many websites that provide knowledge ample opportunities of maintaining communications with friends and family, while at the same time utilizing the opportunity of propagating the gospel of Christ as God...

...The Performance of a Corporation The performance of a corporation is an extremely important aspect in how a company is perceived. Every employee must demonstrate a correct form of professionalism in order to give the corporation a respectable name for it. Otherwise the creditability of the corporation may be hindered. According to Brealey et al., the market value of the company’s shares reflects investor’s expectations about future performance. Investors pay attention to current profits and investment but they also avidly forecast investment and growth. In correlation to Scripture, God expects us to work hard in every aspect of our lives. Ecclesiastes 9:10 states, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” And in Ephesians 6:7 it states, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” These verses ties in how we are to perform highly everyday. When seeking God’s counsel with our whole heart, we are exemplifying him to world. This applies working for His kingdom and for our employer. If we are not to give God work that is lackluster, that means we cannot do the same our boss. Low performance ratings affect the corporation as a whole. Ensuring that things are ran smoothly, corporate performance management monitors improves the capability of a business. Providing three important values to the business; information delivery, performance...

...Due to the rapid development and revolution that technology has brought upon the world, the system of accounting has established a foothold in society as a means of processing the influx of new information brought about by these advances. Accounting is the system by which society is able to interpret information about an organization or business’s activities in a concise manner (Wild, Shaw, & Chiapetta, 2013). Within this system exists cash flows, which just like the name implies, involves the examinations of company investments/expenditure, and how balance is achieved (much like the ebb and flow of the oceans’ tide). The importance of understanding cash flow can even be construed form the Holy Bible. In the Romans 8:18 it is stated, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.” In context with the scriptures, this passage informs the reader in the simplest terms that “pain will only last an instant”, and what lies beyond that is a well-deserved reward to offset the punishment (McGinn, 2004). If an individual (or company) is reckless with their investments, they may find themselves in a financially unsavory situation. However, this scenario is temporary, and will pay off in the end, just as the passage describes. References John, W. J., Ken, S. W., & Chiappetta, B. (2013). ...Integration of Faith and Learning 2 Natalie Collins Liberty University Abstract The book of Joshua details when God commanded Joshua to lead the Israelites into Jericho, and other cities. The position Joshua had to take can be compared to those that take place in marketing management. Marketing management takes place when an individual takes the necessary steps to achieve desired responses from others in business. Marketing is not only about selling but more importantly it is about knowing your customers so the service you are offering them sells itself. This paper will analyze the scripture Joshua 1:9, as well as the book in comparison to marketing management. We can compare the story when Joshua led the Israelites to the Promised Land to the concept of marketing management. In Joshua 1:9 God says, “"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Within the context of marketing management this scripture tells us God wanted Joshua to be strong, and have courage in all that he did and wherever he went. In order to be a good leader in business, or in this case war, a person should hold these characteristics. Joshua had to be strong not just physically but also mentally so he would be able to tackle any challenge that he was faced with the help of God. To have courage requires mental and moral strength to help you make the right decisions. Challenging yourself and...

...How faith integration manifests itself within the practice of corporate finance can only be understood when studying God's Word and practicing its teachings. One important aspect of integrating one’s faith within the context of finance is through stewardship. Stewardship is defined as;"1. the position and duties of a steward, a person who acts as the surrogate of another or others, especially by managing property, financial affairs, an estate, etc. 2. the responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving" (Dictionary.com, 2012). Stewardship in the context of faith integration is the act caring for and protecting the resources that God has entrusted us with and using them in a way that will bring Him glory and help to build up God’s kingdom (Porter, 2006, p. 817). This has an immediate inference to financial interactions. Luke 12:42(NKJV) states; “And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?” This passage of scripture continues in verses 43 and 44 to discuss how blessed that servant will be and how he will be made ruler over all that the possessions the master has. The individuals working in the field of finance who do their job well, will also be rewarded and/or compensated. When examining the goals and governance of the corporation, as well as, the financial markets and institutions, there are a number of individuals...

...disrespect for others; it is a clear example of speaking with arrogance. We know we are not meant to judge because that job belongs to God alone; we speak of someone’s problem like we don’t have the same problem and we should remember that only by taking care of our issues first can we then work on correcting those around us. Showing hatred towards our neighbor is the same effect as if we killed them in the eyes of our Lord. Loving people as we love our close family and friends not only make everyone feel better, it enables us to avoid a plethora of sins caused by dislike alone. Hannah also communicates just how powerful and almighty the Lord truly is; there is no one like God and there is only one God safe enough to put all our trust and faith into. No matter what we go through in our lives; putting God first and letting Him take care of our trials and tribulations will put our hearts and souls at peace. It is so easy to get caught up in the worldly way of living that we forget that...

...Integration of Faith and Learning I Integration of Faith and Learning I Clinton Harris Liberty University Business 520 – Marketing October 27, 2013 Integration of Faith and Learning I The Coca-Cola Company has long been an icon in the business realm due to both their product and their ingenious marketing campaigns. Finding a means to become number one in any given industry sometimes uses an entirely different marketing approach than remaining number one. Coca-Cola has found the right mixture to make their iconic brand recognizable the world-over. Remaining in this position for such a long time has to trickle down from the leadership atop the Coca-Cola’s leadership. Had Coca-Cola had leadership that did not have the character to lead the company towards a continuously promising destination, then the company could have faltered long ago. It is written “Do not be misled: bad company corrupts good character” ("Corinthians 15:33, niv,"). Knowing this, one can assume that the leadership at Coca-Cola, though not presumed to be perfect, has the character to keep their company steered in the right direction in order to provide for a prosperous and continual future. The marketing approach of Coca-Cola will be a reflection of leadership, and this reflection is that of a company that seeks to spread cheer and joy throughout the world. This point is evident in their touching and heart-warming marketing campaigns throughout the holidays, not only in America, but other countries worldwide...

...Integration of Faith and Learning I - Character Richard A. Ray Liberty University – BUSI 520 Integration of Faith and Learning I - Character What is Character? As defined by Merriam-Webster character is “a set qualities that are shared by many people in a group, country, etc.” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). When you are dealing with a product that you are trying to market you have to come up with ways to draw your customers in and create that trust in you and what you say. If you have a reputation of putting out poor quality things then it can and will be very difficult to sell any item. Whereas on the other hand if you have developed a reputation of being honest and trustworthy then when you market your product the consumer will be more likely to purchase that product. Individuals within a company are what make that company. If those individuals have a poor character then the overall performance of the company can be poor and not last long. The bible says in Matthew 23:25, 26 “25What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish but inside you are filthy – full of greed and self-indulgence! 26You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean too.”(New Living Translation, 2014). So in order to have the appearance of good we must be good from within. If a company is built on honesty and its employees are hired with these...

...Dialogue between Faith and science assignment: What is the kind of relation between faith, and reason or science ? General: The discoveries we make through science make the people think and ask questions about his identity, sometimes they even change ones ideas about himself. We see for example that by Copernicus revolution about astronomy the people got to know that they are not living in a world that is not found at the centre of the universe, to the contrary to what was thought before but we live in a planet amongst many others. The theory of revolution of Charles Darwin taught people that we are a member of many different species of animals. These discoveries challenge us to think about the world in general, life and humans in a different way. Nowadays faith cannot forget reason and psychology has to be taken with the importance it needs. During this assignment as indicated by the title we are going to see the relationship between faith and psychology (reason). First we start by showing the type of relationship that can take place between them then we explain how and why they go hand in hand with religion. In the second chapter we see how reason challenges our faith, then conclude by giving some suggestions how reason can contribute with faith. The relation between faith and reason: You cannot actually talk about the relation between faith and reason because there are many psychological reasons like there are religions. Faith cannot be separated from the...

...Spirituality in Counseling Integrating Religion and Spirituality In Counseling Anntoni Leonard University of the Cumberlands COUN 636 Abstract Religion and spirituality are arguably among the most important factors which structure human experience, beliefs, values and behavior. Religion and spirituality are clearly important to most Americans; however, most counselors have little or no training in dealing with religious and spiritual issues. Since the mid-1990’s, the integration of spirituality and religion into therapeutic sessions has generated much interest as an area that needs to be addressed with regards to diversity in clients. This paper will address the inclusion of religion and spirituality in client’s session and counselor’s attitudes toward a client’s faith based on the assumption that the client’s faith and the counselor’s attitude can have significant impact on the outcome of the treatment of the client. A counselor’s willingness to attend to faith as a means of growth can build rapport and lessen potential resistance with clients who are religious (Worthington, 1989). Spirituality in Counseling: Integrating Religion and Spirituality Spirituality has become increasingly important in counseling and prayer has become the spiritual intervention of choice for Christian counselors, as well as secular counselors. The controversial nature of including prayer in counseling requires much consideration on the grounds of ethical boundaries. Majority of mental health...

...A 4 MAT Review of Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity Liberty University Summary Entwistle’s book, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, discusses the historical background of psychology, religion, and the tension that is often associated when trying to blend the two. According to Entwistle, “psychology utilizes reason and observation of nature as its primary source,” whereas “theology utilizes Scripture as its primary source” (p. 135). Psychology and Christianity are discussed under five models of integration within the text. These models are Enemies, Spies, Colonists, Neutral Parties, and Allies. The Enemies model pits psychology and theology against one another. One either chooses the scientific path of psychology or goes the spiritual route with theology to solve a problem. There is no room to integrate the two. People who follow this model are either spiritual or scientific. They do not believe the two are intertwined. Entwistle further divides the Enemies into Secular Combatants, who embrace psychology without any religious authority, and the Christian Combatants, who embrace religious authority and work to protect it from human interference (Entwistle, p. 138). The Spies model recognizes the benefits of religion and Scripture but does not seek to integrate the religious aspect into psychology. If religion does try to play a part, it is reduced to the most minimalist form. Therefore, the therapist may recognize his or...

...Faith is something that helps many people through the tough things in life. Whether it be sickness, tough transitions or just everyday problems, turning to faith is something that many see as the only way to fix these things. The Beals family is an amazing example of this. In Warriors Don’t Cry, Melba Patillo Beals illustrates true faith as a necessity when going through trials and tribulations. Melba’s brother, Conrad is asked if he gave any of his belongings away and when he says he hasn’t, Grandma India compares him to Melba, telling him everything she’s given away. Conrad then mentions how Melba must like suffering and doing without because she attends Central High School. Grandma India defends Melba by saying, “‘Her staying there means...
