Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel
Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel was born on November 14, 1805. She was born in Hamburg, Germany, but grew up in Berlin with her mother, father, and three siblings. She was the oldest out of all four of the children. Her younger brother, Felix, and Fanny were extremely close, and maintained a close relationship through out their lives. She eventually went on to marry Wilhelm Hensel, a painter.
Fanny and her siblings received a very good education. Her father hired Ludwig Berger to teach the children lessons, and this man was a very well known Beethoven interpreter. He also hired Carl Friedrich Zelter to teach the children music theory and composition. The children also had an extended stay in Paris, and here they studied
