There are many cases of segregation in our world, even today. But is it good or bad? Based on the reading, I think it’s probably bad.
In the reading Farwell to Manzanar, it shows the negative effects of segregation. Jeanne lived in a segregated area with other Japanese her whole life. She did not learn how to deal with white people. When it came time for her to be interened, she didn’t know what to do or say to the white people because she had been segregated her whole life. He father is even worse because he’s not Japanese‐American, so he understands white people even less. The same is true of Mama, and the other older Japanese people.
