Happy birthday to you is a phrase that has been around for decades and that many people have sung to others for decades also. Mr. Bobby Bandleader has been singing “Happy Birthday to You” to his customers for many years and they have enjoyed him singing it to them. Mr. Johnny Singstealer took it upon himself to get the copyrights of the “Happy Birthday to You” phrase for copyrighted for him. Should Mr. Singstealer be able to sue and collect all the royalties from Mr. Bandleader for using his copyright phrase or should he just let it go and not worry about it.
As I stated earlier “Happy Birthday to You” is a song that people have been singing to other people for decades when it was their birthday. Mr. Johnny Singstealer took it upon himself to copyright the “Happy Birthday to You” song for himself therefore he owns the rights to the song. Mr. Singstealer has every right to sue anyone who uses this song without his permission or doesn’t pay to use it. I can understand why Mr. Singstealer would be upset about this when he saw an opportunity to make something all his and for someone to use it without permission would make me upset also.
I have been singing “Happy Birthday to my customers for many years and they love it and this is one reason why they keep coming back on their birthday. This is Mr. Bobby Bandleader reason of why he keeps using the song and puts his own rendition of the song on it. Mr. Bandleader feels that he has done nothing wrong because this is a song that many people sing everyday to people and they add their own words to it. Mr. Bandleader feels that he has done nothing wrong and that Mr. Singstealer should just leave me alone as that this song is song everyday in the world.
We have to keep in mind that no one said that there could only be one Happy Birthday song. After reviewing Mr. Singstealer case against Mr. Bandleader I understand why Mr.
