Implementation Fidelity, Learning Outcomes and Assessment Outside of Education

I. Introduction A. Attention-grabber: Implementation fidelity is defined as the comparison of the planned program to the implemented program….. B. Recommendation: I propose that departments outside of education become more aware of this assessment technique and instill it within their employee training program. C. Gain for the audience/importance/relevance: High fidelity within employee training can lead to favorable outcomes and constant growth. D. Agenda: i. Implementation fidelity is uncommon outside of education. A. Lack of understanding, unaware of the consequences, and ignoring the process of comparing planned and implemented programs. ii. Understanding the concept of implementation fidelity data and assessment. iii. Benefits of the implementation model.

Transition: Let us begin.

II. Body E. Assessment Cycle: Implementation fidelity and learning outcome data can be analyzed through an assessment cycle iv. The bridge between a promising idea and the impact on students is implementation, but innovations are seldom implemented as intended” According to Berman & McLaughlin, American writers and educators, Program deviations and drifts could lead to a decrease in employee training impact and negative outcome. v. Assessment Cycle graphic. According to the assessment cycle implementation fidelity and learning outcomes directly correlate. B. Outcomes lead to assessment through aligning outcomes to training programs and designing how to measure outcomes C. Assessment leads to outcomes through collecting data, analyzing it, and making the necessary changes based on results.

Transition: We will now move on to important components of fidelity

III. There five components within our fidelity checklist vi. Program differentiation, adherence, quality, exposure, and responsiveness D. In other words, detailing features that enable students to learn, whether the program was implemented as planned, rating how well it was implemented, whether each employee received enough attention, and how well was the audience engaged. E. Favorable outcomes can be achieved by adhering to these five components.

Transition: Now that you understand what fidelity is and why it is important, let me tell you of a method that can be used to improve employee training.

F. Solution: I propose we use the implementation model. vii. A model that demonstrates the correlation between fidelity and outcomes. viii. The four sections demonstrate the combination of low to high fidelity and unfavorable to favorable outcomes.

G. Benefits: Employee development will improve at a constant rate because we will have data on whether employees are learning and achieving. ix. Without data we have misguided views on employee development. x. With this method our department has turned troubled employees into good employees, good employee’s overachievers, overachievers into go-getters and go-getters into leaders on the rise.

Address Objections: You may be wondering how to make sense of the connection between fidelity and outcomes to workers outside of education.

H. Counter: Simple, it is explained on the model how you reached that outcome. i. High fidelity and favorable outcome: program was implemented as planned and objectives were met. ii. Low fidelity and unfavorable outcome: the plan was not implemented as planned, the objectives were not met, which could lead to the termination or deduction of employee training. iii. High fidelity and unfavorable outcome: program was implemented as planned, but objectives were not met, which should lead to changes within the planned program. iv. Finally low fidelity and favorable outcome: program was not implemented as planned, thus the planned program cannot be contributed to employee success. Employee used outside resources. IV. Conclusion I. To recount why departments outside of education should use the implementation fidelity model to assess their training programs. xi. The assessment cycle and implementation model shows how, why and where fidelity and outcomes correlate xii. Low fidelity can leads to lack of data which contributes to unfavorable outcomes like deduction or termination of training programs and decline in development. J. If departments outside of education have a basic understanding implantation fidelity and use it properly, we can look forward to: xiii. Usable data for training programs xiv. Increased employee contribution xv. Expansion in employee training xvi. Increasing leadership oppurtunities xvii. Overall growth in employee development

Final Recommendation: As departments outside of education, you should consider using the implementation fidelity to assess and improve employee training programs.

In the book “High Fidelity”, Nick Hornby, the author, examines how music can be used to examine the various aspects of everyday life. In the book “High Fidelity”, Rob, the main character sets out to associate various events in his life with his forever-changing tastes in music. The main character in “High Fidelity” uses music to put things into perspective and re-examine some important aspects of his life. On the other hand, Alan Ruisbridger is of the view that music can change people’s lives for the better. In his book “Play it Again”, Ruisbridger tells the story of how the main character learnt to play the piano and ended up becoming a better person in the course of his lessons. Both Hornby and Ruisbridger are giving testaments of how music can play an important role in an individual’s life. In addition, both authors focus on the positive influences that music can have on people’s lives. Music has a hidden element and it is not easy to understand. Furthermore, it is true that music has the power to impact positive changes on an individual’s life. This essay explores the different ways in which music can improve our lives and change them for the better. Ruisbrigder is of the opinion that music can help us to learn ‘new tricks’ even at an advanced age. Using music as a learning tool is not a new concept because this strategy has previously...

...Capital markets are financial markets for the buying and selling of long-term debt or equity-backed securities. These markets channel the wealth of savers to those who can put it to long-term productive use, such as companies or governments making long-term investments.[1] Financial regulators, such as the UK's Bank of England (BoE) or the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), oversee the capital markets in their jurisdictions to protect investors against fraud, among other duties. Modern capital markets are almost invariably hosted on computer-based electronic trading systems; most can be accessed only by entities within the financial sector or the treasury departments of governments and corporations, but some can be accessed directly by the public.[2] There are many thousands of such systems, most serving only small parts of the overall capital markets. Entities hosting the systems include stock exchanges, investment banks, and government departments. Physically the systems are hosted all over the world, though they tend to be concentrated in financial centres like London, New York, and Hong Kong. Capital markets are defined as markets in which money is provided for periods longer than a year.[3] A key division within the capital markets is between the primary markets and secondary markets. In primary markets, new stock or bond issues are sold to investors, often via a mechanism known as underwriting. The main entities seeking to raise long-term funds on the primary...

American Fidelity

...Question 1 The rationale of an Apache acquisition of MW Petroleum is plausible, yet there are outstanding concerns. By completing a deal, Apache stands to benefit from several aspects. First, MW isa large company which has more than double Apache’s reserves and it includesproperties that are well-suited to Apache’s operating capabilities. Moreover, on behalf of MW, Amoco operated fields accounting for approximately 80% of MW’s production. Such high operating percentage would promise Apache significant cost-saving opportunities. The acquisition would more than double Apache’s reserves, it would shift Apache’s oil-to-gas ratio from 20-80 to 40-60, and would further diversify Apache geographically. Shifting the oil-to-gas ratio is important because gas prices were highly volatile during this time period while oil was less volatile and, therefore, more predictable. Apache’s revenue stream was high levered and the company’s acquisition driven growth strategy would be more difficult when there is an instability of gas prices. With an acquisition, Apache could also recognize several synergies that would make the deal even more attractive. The properties of MW would diversify Apache geographically and make it more stable in the US market. These include acquired technical data (further exploration possibilities) and several production optimization techniques. Apache would have access to Amoco’s data, which could lead to undiscovered reserves despite that both parties agreed that...

First Fidelity Bancorporation (a)

...Assignment 1: First Fidelity Bancorporation (A) Aim This paper analyzes1 the situation First Fidelity Bancorporation (FFB) currently faces and recommends a course of action for consideration. Summary of Current Situation Key issues FFB’s operating efficiency is low2 due to our decentralized holding company structure and cumbersome decision-making process. FFB is currently unable to meet the increasingly stringent government regulations for asset quality and capital requirements, and is also being pressured to develop standardized products and global banking capability. The operational structure has to be rationalized and consolidated to increase productivity, reduce expenses, and improve management control information. The consolidation will have to be accomplished within 18 months, after which the government is likely to vigorously enforce the new requirements. In addition to the tight timeframe for consolidation, other complexities include (a) the possibility of FFB being acquired3, and (b) capital crunch due to the worsening economy. Priorities FFB’s immediate priorities are to cut costs and integrate Information Systems (IS) processes, while long-term priorities include the ability to support acquisitions and the ability to standardize product and service offerings. As such, the consolidation solution has to be both cost-effective and timely, while being able to digest acquired institutions more efficiently. Rationalization Options The rationalization can be done in-house...

Fidelity In Couple's Therapy

...Personally, I feel there are benefits of why fidelity should be out in the open in couple’s therapy. I have always heard “what you don’t know can’t hurt you” and I have felt like there are some things, like infidelity that no matter how painful, should be known. I feel, not knowing about the infidelity it would be hard for a couple in crisis to move forward. Moreover, a partner may feel like the other is distracted, but, they are cheating, so how can a couple resolve issues if there is no accountability or honesty for one’s actions? In contrast, I can see that knowing about infidelity could cause a lot of pain and hurt to be morally honest with one’s partner. Per Butler, Rodriguez, & Feinauer, (2010) some exceptions for a counselor to consider are: (a) one partner is suffering from terminal illness; (b) divorce papers have been filed; (c) if there is possibility for physical abuse; (d) one of the partners is suffering from a serious mental health disorder that could affect the overall ability to facilitate healing: or (e) many years have passed since the partner was unfaithful and the reasons why they have chosen couples therapy is unrelated to the previous infidelity. Additionally, counselors may need to judge the risk of harm to the other partner and whether it is relevant to the couple’s future (Butler, Rodriguez, & Feinauer, 2010)....

High Noon Movie Comparison

...While High Noon is based on the short story “Tin Star” by John Cunningham, the changes made in High Noon and the camera/sound techniques used made the movie more enjoyable. The movie High Noon has several similarities with the book “Tin Star.” One similarity is the bad guys are coming on the noon train to kill the Sheriff. The Sheriff stays to fight the bad guys alone. The director also made several changes from the book and the movie. A difference is that the wife was alive and the Sheriff and her got married. In the book “Tin Star” the wife died and she was never mentioned in the book. I liked how the director had the wife alive in the movie. It made the movie better because she shot the bad guy to save her husband's life, at the...

High Fidelity Simulation

...High-Fidelity Simulation Opal Nutter Chamberlain College Instructional Methods NR522 Susan Walsh November 18, 2012 High-Fidelity Simulation There is a global concern regarding health care education. Budget constraints, faculty shortages, and lack of clinical sites are just a few concerns of nursing programs. Nurse educators seek teaching strategies that promote students that are highly skilled practitioners. Students must learn how to transfer their knowledge and learned skills into their clinical practice. It is the nurse educator’s goal to “produce safe and competent registered nurse” (Reid Searl, Eaton, Vieth, & Happell, 2011, p. 2758). Sufficient clinical experience is challenged as there is an increased demand for nursing schools to produce nurses that are competent, with the increasingly “ill population, coupled with the shortage of faculty” (Sportsman et al., 2009, p. 67). High Fidelity Simulation (HFS) is a method of providing students with clinical experience that is essential in developing the skills and knowledge. Many nursing programs are now using HFS in their curriculum. These simulators “allow students to experience high-risk, low volume patient problems in a realistic setting” (Tuoriniemi & Schott Baer, 2008, p. 105). The HFS are full size mannequins that can respond verbally and physiologically to the students interventions as well as omissions of care (Leigh & Hurst, 2008). The HFS offers students many advantages. This method...

Importance of Fidelity in Julius Caesar

...Importance of Fidelity in Julius Caesar Humans have always been communal animals. They band together in groups, for social and survival needs. This sense of community brings about the values of dedication and loyalty. The alliances man has created inspires stories and plays about any number of time periods. Many examples of fidelity are illustrated in the characters of Julius Caesar. Antonius appears to be blindly loyal to Caesar. He comes off as a rash supporter in the scene that depicts Antonius viewing Caesar's body. Another situation where Antonius displays fidelity to Caesar is act one, scene two, in which the young runner pledges that whatever Caesar wishes is his command. The wild soliloquy he gives illustrates his allegiance to the slain king, and he seems to sacrifice his body to Caesar's spirit. Such devote feelings spur the reader to wonder what deed Caesar did for Antonius that the younger man would harbor said emotions. Not only the men of Julius Caesar but the women also show loyalty. Although Caesar's wife, Calpurnia, portrays herself as a needy woman, she also shows that she loves her husband very much. Fear overwhelms her when Caesar announces that, though he's been warned that the day would be his deathday, he would go outside. Calpurnia's dread of losing her husband shows that she depends on him very much. However, it is questionable in which way she depends on him: emotionally or monetarily. A woman accustomed to...

Nursing/High-Fidelity Simulation

...NR522 High Fidelity Simulation Chamberlain College of Nursing Instructor Marjorie McDonough Kim C. Gomez Spring B 2015 Introduction The use of high-fidelity simulators in nursing education has been around for a long time. Simulation is the art of science and the recreating of a scenario in to a setting that is not real is one that has been an important aspect of nursing for decades. Although the manikin Resusci Anne was introduced to modern nurses practicing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the Mr. Chase doll was initially used in 1911 for nurses to practice their skills (Burns, O’Donnell, & Artman, 2010). Computers and technology have become instrumental in the delivery of nursing education. The use of high fidelity simulators, promotes problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills development (Stokowski, 2013). As high fidelity simulation is emerging to address the 21st century, clinical education in nursing must be aligned with the current trends without compromising patient safety and curriculum. This technology of simulation will foster learning as a catalyst into the new era of learning and critical thinking needed for the evolving profession of nursing. Some debate has been raised over...
