Final Project
When introduced to college, what is your first reaction? Happy? Excited? Ready to start your life as a college student? Even though you are ready to get started on your path toward a great education and job, there is hard work involved. With hard work comes facing challenges. Things like stress, money, and making time for my family are my three biggest challenges that I personally face. Think about where you are at this point in time. How many challenges have you overcome? The biggest of my three greatest challenges that I face as a college student is stress. There is stress coming from every direction. It comes from places like class, work, home life, relationships, and unexpected setbacks. For me, I do not deal with stress well. There is so many ways to cope with stress, but some people are better at it than others. You just have to find that one thing that you can do to escape from reality for a little while. The reason why I put stress first on my list, is because all of my challenges are directed to stress. I have faced this challenge for a while now. It has seem to become a part of my daily routine. With that being said, I have learned to control it but not to completely erase it from my life. If you figure out how, let me know!
One suggestion that I have come up with is putting yourself in a setting where nothing can cause more stress. For me, I like going in a quiet room and finding out interesting facts about random things. I look for silly little books, internet articles, and fun facts that have un-useful information. For example, who invented video games? Though this may not but useful academic wise, it is useful for my stress relief.
This information provided for stress management was found in my essay for module three. It explains that there is more than one way to deal with stress. It has availability to a

Real Options

...Associate Professor, Reyjavík University, Iceland. ii Abstract The way companies value their investment opportunities has changed in recent years. With changing market conditions companies are constantly confronted with investment decisions that are increasingly uncertain. Known investment analysis such as net present value and decision tree analysis increasingly undervalue investment opportunities as they lack the flexibility and ability to modify projects when new information is available. A method based on financial option valuation has become the basis for a new technique to value high risk investment opportunities. It is based on valuation in the risk-neutral world and therefore eliminates investors’ attitude to risk. Real option analysis can capture the value of this increased flexibility, which previous methods have not been able to, such as the option to defer, abandon, expand or default a project. These options can be exercised when new information arrives and therefore provide an opportunity to put a floor on project loss. Use of binomial option pricing model gives managers a whole range of possibilities in analyzing the flexibility and to value the uncertainty in their investments. In this thesis the disadvantages of net present value and decision...

Scanning electron microscopy studies indicated that the silver nanowires are about 100 nm in diameter and up to 500 mm in length. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy analyses showed that the Keywords: green chemistry · hydrothermal synthesis · nanostructures · nanowires · silver Introduction One-dimensional nanostructures of metals have attracted much interest due to their potential applications in fabricating nanoscale electronic, optoelectronic, and magnetic devices, which also provide an ideal model system to experimentally investigate physical phenomena, such as quantized conductance and size effects.[1–6] Among all metals, silver nanowires are particularly interesting to fabricate and study because bulk silver exhibits the highest electrical and thermal conductivity among all metals, and the performance of silver in many applications could be potentially enhanced by processing silver into one-dimensional nanostructures. Much effort has been devoted to the syntheses of silver nanowires, such as electrochemical techniques,[7–9] templates (i.e., mesoporous silica[10, 11] and carbon nanotubes[12, 13]) directed synthesis, and polymer-directed synthesis.[14–17] Recently, Murphy and co-workers have reported a seedless and surfactantless wet chemical approach to prepare silver nanowires.[18] In their report, silver nanowires are prepared by re- ...

Need to Develop Uniform Credit System

...November 12, 2010. NEED TO DEVELOP UNIFORM CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM Dr. Pandit Vidyasagar. The changing paradigm in higher education at global level has brought forward issues which need to be addressed at national level. One of such issues is introduction of credit system at under-graduate & post-graduate level. In India, at present the situation that exists is complex in nature. Though U.G.C. (University Grants Commission) has issued guidelines that the credit system be adopted at all levels of higher education, the actual implementation has not been done. At many universities the annual system is still in practice. Though some of the universities have adopted semester system at under-graduate & post-graduate level, very few universities have implemented credit system and that also, mostly at the post-graduate level. In this scenario the students who wish to join other universities during their studies at under-graduate level or after completion of graduation face many hurdles. This is mostly because there is no accepted system for assigning proper credits for the studies undertaken and to establish the equivalence. In fact, there is no change in attitude of the teacher and academic administrators to accept the credit system. European nations have realized these problems years before and have successfully tried to develop European Credit Transfer System(ECTS). This system is operational at present and has facilitated the movement of the students among...
