The six steps of problem solving from defining the problem to evaluating its outcome have been used by me in regards to Findlay’s flooding problem. First, I defined the problem of flooding and investigated why it was happening. Then, I spent time brainstorming solutions to reduce and hopefully stop the problem altogether. After much debate, I decided rerouting the river would be the best way to go about this. It would positively impact the general community the greatest, but a small amount of people would, unfortunately, loose land to the project. It would be quickly implemented through committee action, and be evaluated over a long span of time through research.
