...productive person in society. This is story about my first day in first grade. It was a blustery Monday morning. I was awakened by my mother giving me a kiss on my forehead. The air in the room smelled stale from sleep which emphasized the smell of coffee on her breathe-it was so fresh I could almost taste it. “Time to wake up for your first day of school.”, she said. My vision started to come into focus as I slowly began to open my eyes. Magically my clothes, which were flung all over the floor the night before, were perfectly folded on the dresser. The shades on my bedroom window were drawn to the very top, aiming the early morning sun straight into my direction, blinding me. I could hear the wind outside, cool and crisp, causing me to burrow further into my blankets-interrupting my own personal cocoon of warmth and safety. “You’re going to be late for your first day of school if you don’t get moving!”. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and planted my feet on the soft, vanilla colored carpet. Instantly, I felt the nervousness fluttering through my veins. Today is going to be my first day in First grade. I was in the bathroom combing my bed head, brushing my teeth, and drying off from my morning shower. While getting ready, the aroma coming from the kitchen was mouth watering. With that first whiff, I instantly knew what riches would be presented to me at the breakfast table. I knew that today was going to be an important day in my life, but I didn’t know It was going to commence...

...My first day a school The poem describes how the little boy feels about his first school day. The boy was very nervous, maybe because he doesn't know anything about school or what school is like. I remember my first day at school, as something really special. I remember that the day before the start, I couldn't fall asleep. My anxiety hat taken over my body. The day started with my mother came into my room and woke me up, but I was already up. I had put on my prettiest clothes and I had already, the day before, made my mother braid my hair so I had curls, when I woke up. My school was 300 meters from where I lived, so I didn't have very long to go. My mother had taken he day off, so she could be there with me. When we came up to the school, where there already lots of children and parents. I clearly remember how I squeezed my mother's hand and I felt safe. The inspector said welcome and there were community singing. It was a tradition that there were community songs every year, and the inspector tell the new pupils welcome. After the songs, it was time to go into the classrooms. I was very excited to meet my new class, but I was a happy little girl, when I saw that there were two girls in my class, whom I went to nursery with. When I had found my class and everybody were together, we had to find some seats. On each table there was a note with each name on it, a juice and an apple. I went around in the classroom long before I found my name, I had to sit next to somebody named...

...My First Day at School After a patience of six years to become the known phenomenon as a student, I suddenly felt nervousness scatter my entire body. I was lost in my own thoughts and there were nowhere to escape. The excitement and enthusiasm that had been grown since last year where my parents told me the very unknowing thing school disappeared. I didn’t want that the school should be replaced by the comfortable kindergarten with the safely settings where my friends were. I became afraid of the unconscious, afraid of the strange and I began crying. I wanted that my father immediately turned the car and drove back home, but it was too late. We were only few metres from the school. My parents told me that it would be great and that I would meet new people, and get new friends to know. I would no longer be a little boy, but instead a big boy that went to school with own schoolbag with books in it. I knew that all the things my parents told me were just for to get me more comfortable in the situation. Actually it helped especially the last thing they told me and therefore I saw a ray of hope even though the circumstances. Was it so terrible as I predicted? Maybe it was just me who was too exaggerated. I was dressed in my finest clothes and my hair was weird done with help by some sticky trash, fashionable my mother told me. N. Zahle’s School was the name of the school where I began and spent my next ten years. It was a school of good reputation where my sister already...

...Today is the first day of school. The three months of vacation in the country have passed like a dream. This morning, I was returning to school. I was thinking of the country, and went unwillingly. The streets were swarming with pupils. The two bookshops were thronged with persons who were purchasing books, copy-books and school-outfit. In front of the school, so many people had collected, that the beadle and the policeman found it hard to keep the entrance clear. Near the door, I feft myself touched on the shoulder; it was my master of the eleventh grade, cheerful as usual, and he said to me: - "So we are to part forever, Henry!" I knew it well, yet the words pained me. We made our way in with difficulty. Pupils of all ages filled the anteroom and the stairs, making such a buzzing, that it seemed like entering a theatre. I was glad to see once more that large room on the ground floor, where I had passed nearly every day for three years. There was a throng of teachers going and coming. My school-mistress of the last year greeted me from the door of the class room, and said: - "Henry, you are going to the floor above, this year. I shall not even see you pass by any more !". And she gazed regretfully at me. At ten o'clock, we were all in our classes. The school seemed so small and gloomy to me when I thought of the woods and the mountains where I had passed the summer. I thought again, too, of my previous master who was so good, and who always smiled at us. Our...

...In chapter one of “The First Day of School,” the author explains how a teacher never receives proper instructions for the first day of school. Wong continues to explain how the first day is essential to the students and the teacher; it reveals how effective the school year will be for the students. Furthermore, the text explains what an effective teacher will look like in a classroom. For instance, in the text, Wong tells the audience that a teacher is effective because he/she impacts lives, which is imperative because a teacher establishes the behavior tone in the classroom. Additionally, chapter one provides information on the different stages of teachers (fantasy, survival, mastery and impact), which is evident in secondary schools and higher...

...As I walked into the school first day of freshman year at Harris County High School, I would have never thought I could be so wrong about a person. Walking in I remember being so nervous and praying to God that I had classes with my friends. I looked at my schedule for my homeroom teacher: Mrs. Jackson: Algebra 1. I thought "oh no, she is the toughest teacher to have I'm already dreading this." Searching the crowded hallway for a familiar face, I spot my best friend, Bethany Kirk, I run up to her and ask to see her schedule. We have homeroom together, super pumped up we high-five each other and start walking to Mrs. Jackson's room together. Bethany asked," have you heard about what everyone says about Mrs. Jackson?" I laughed, "what, about...

...hope to contribute at BIMA as an artist and as a member of the Jewish community. For the past two years, I have been attending high school at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts as a film major. I have been studying both the history of film and the production of film. I have created various films ranging from music videos to movie trailers. I hope to contribute to BIMA by sharing my knowledge and experience of films with my fellow BIMA participants. I hope to grow as an artist in that I hope to learn from my instructors to further develop and improve my film techniques in areas such as camerawork and editing. I also hope to learn new techniques and skills in the workshops and master classes that are ran by professionals in the field. I hope to collaborate with BIMA participants by creating films with them and learning from them as well. I attended Solomon Schechter day school from elementary school through middle school. I would therefore contribute my knowledge of Judaism and Shabbat with other BIMA participants. For example, I have experienced Shabbat in traditional ways such as attending services and eating a Shabbat dinner with my family. However, I would also look forward to growing as a Jew by exploring new ways to observe Shabbat. For example, meditation and yoga would be new ways that I could experience Shabbat and relax on the Day of Rest. Imagine a Jewish community whose members come from all kinds of geographic, cultural, educational, and Jewish backgrounds...

...“If I Try Hard Enough, I Can Do Anything” As a young boy beginning my first day of grade school, I was excited but frightened at the same time. You see this would be my first experience away from my parents or grandparents. The school building seemed so big and had so many doors and hallways. My mother tried to console me by walking me to my classroom to meet my first teacher. I was frightened and visibly upset to see my mother leave me. After a couple of hours into my first day of school, my father who was an over the road truck driver and hadn’t seen me leave home earlier that morning, stopped by the school to see how my first day was going. Wow, was I happy to see him! Although frightened and upset I had no intentions of letting him leave without me. Needless to say, my first day of grade school became my first half day of grade school. Through all the emotions and tears, I neglected to observe the school motto, but apparently my parents noticed. The next morning while preparing to to to school my mother kept telling me, “If you try hard enough, you can do anything”. Well on my second day of school as I walked in with a feeling a little more at ease, I noticed on nearly every wall a single phrase that stuck with me from that point. The school motto read, “If I try hard enough, I can do anything.” From that day forward I began to believe that single phrase. I was my parents first child of two and by the time I turned seven years old, my little sister was born. In...
