...Animal’s perspective: “Wake up, wake up, we have to go for a walk”, I had just fallen asleep, when she woke me up once again. She always tended to wake me up whenever it suited her, and it bothered me that I could not get the sleep I needed. I got up before she would call my name, stretched my four long legs and quietly growled at her. I could tell by the long drive, the honking cars and the sound of baby strollers that we were going somewhere I love. For my convenience, we were going for a walk in the park. My absolute favorite place to go. I had always loved this place because of the many different smells, the other dogs and the ducks in the fountain, which I love to play with. Just as she let me out of the car I ran straight to the opening of the park, and exactly as I thought I had left her behind, something pulled my neck and I remembered that she had put the collar and dog leash on me right before we left the house. Stupid, stupid, stupid collar and leash, it caused me trouble every time and I hated wearing the collar. It is pink, with diamonds on it, because my owner thinks that I am a princess, but she does not know me at all. Princess is the last thing I am, I love making trouble, carelessly rolling around in different kinds of dropping and barking at kids, so that they get scared, and that is not very similar to a princess. My owner always apologizes to the small kids, and as an excuse, she says that I’m scared of them, but she doesn’t know the truth, and I don’t...

...designed to hold the cloth flash cards which act as stuffing like in a pillow. It also comes with a carrying bag and it can be rolled up and stored in the bag. When this bag is unzipped, it folds out completely to form a blanket. The lining of the bag comes in a variety of color and is made of a soft cloth that is comfortable enough for sleeping and napping. The outside of the bag has ten, one-foot by one-foot squares stitched into it with the numbers zero through nine stitched into each square. The numbers are stitched into each individual square in a variety of bright colors. The numbers also have different textures such as velvet or vinyl. The flash cards are six-inch by six-inch. The flash cards are made of the same material as the blanket and have basic addition and subtraction problems stitched into them on one side and the solution stitched on the other side with the solution equal to a number between zero and nine. The problems on the flash cards are stitched using the same colors and textures that are used on the blanket. For example, 4 + 5, if the 4 on the blanket is blue vinyl, then the 4 on the flash card will be same and the 5 will also be the same color and texture as the 5 on the blanket. The solution to 4+5 is 9, so the 9 is stitched on the back of the flash card and will be the same color and texture as the 9 on the blanket. When this bag is unzipped and laid on the floor it becomes a large blanket. The child takes the flash cards out of the smaller bag/pillow...

...1. Organizing information I noted from the chapter that “organized information is easier to find” especially if you are selective about the information, organize it in a specific way to make it easier to locate and to remember, and associate it with related information. For example, in my personal life, this strategy would be useful for sorting and saving important emails whether at home or at work. There are times when my inbox is full of information - inspirational, motivational, tips, and up-coming events. At work, information on new banking policies and procedures or product launches are all usually filtered down via email. It is sometimes difficult to refer to the information quickly when you can’t remember when the email was sent or who sent it. Since reading this chapter, I have started to save specific email information as word documents grouped under different folders. This has proven to be effective for linking related topics in the respective folders which makes locating the information quicker. In my academic life, I will first note the topic to be studied and pay greater attention to the learning objectives. This would then make it easier to skim through the chapter and specifically note the more important material and review that first as well as to research any related topics by using other resources. The chapter also noted the importance of paying attention to any information in bold type and any illustrations. This strategy would greatly increase my...

One suggestion for individuals who travel would be the ability to point their phone at a recognizable land mark and be able to see the history of that location. The Flash Crash The conditions prior to the flash crash can be described as down and continually trending downward. There were also issues with Greece and the potential that this country would default. Some of the benefits of electronic trading include speed, reduced costs, and more liquid markets. The systems have the capability of processing large amounts of data in short periods of time and the ability to adjust strategies on the spur of the moment. In the case of the flash crash that occurred in May of 2010, the computer algorithm was not sufficient to handle the severity and complexity of the situation at hand. The question whether or not the crash could have been prevented is debatable. Several safeguards have been put into place in an attempt to prevent a repeat of the flash crash. These safeguards include standardizing circuit breakers in all financial markets, limiting high...

...The Flash APA 6Th Edition Juan Carlos Garcia South Texas College "My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive” Like most comic book characters we often get different versions to a character’s past, and story lines. I’ll be talking from the current TV show The Flash from The CW Network. The First episode aired: October 7, 2014 and right now season 2 is going on and episode 18 will be airing April 19th. The title of this episode is “Versus Zoom” This is Barry Allen and he is known for working really slow and arriving late anywhere he goes. He is a scientist in the Criminal and Forensic Science Division of the Central Police Department. He lives with his boss and adoptive father Joe West and Joe’s daughter Iris West, she happens to be the love of his life. Barry’s mother was killed by a yellow streak when he was just a little kid and his dad (Henry Allen) went to jail for the murder of his wife (Nora Allen) which he did not commit. Barry is determined to solve this case and free his dad by becoming a forensic investigator. One day while Barry was working at his office he was struck by a lightning bolt, that was produced by S.T.A.R. labs, when the particle accelerator exploded and created a giant thundercloud. When waking up from a coma after nine months, he discovers that he can run really really fast and had developed other super abilities. Shortly after this he starts acting like a vigilante and super hero known as the “Red Streak” or “The Streak” but soon...

...Those will be updated constantly, too. So keep checking back. You will likely have some questions along the way. Sadly, it is not possible for me to take the time to personally answer all of the one-to-one lighting questions that pop up. So try to resist asking them in the comments section. The only people reading this behind you are the people who are, well, behind you. You will find the one-to-one knowledge bank you seek in the Strobist Group on Flickr. There, you can ask away and get the diversity of response that you need. These are the lighting grad students, so to speak. They know this stuff, and are very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. Most of all, remember to have fun and learn to make some cool light. Two Things Your Flash Needs to Have To make use of the techniques described in the following lessons, we are going to assume a couple of things: 1) You have a strobe that can be triggered externally via your camera's PC connection, as seen in the first photo. ...My Prediction for Season 2 flash story line includes Futures end influences and a Wally West Flash! Here is how I have come to that conclusion and then some. In Tuesday night's episode of The Flash during the body snatcher scene Eobard says to Harrison; "In the year twenty twenty (five years from now) you and your wife Tes Morgan successfully launch a particle accelerator that changes the course of history". Eobard accelerated that timeline, to the year 2015 (technically 2014, and they should have had the line read 2019). Five years from now, the DC Comic Universe plot line for Futures End is as follows: "Reeling from a war with Another Earth, leaving the world unprepared for an approaching evil that threatens to destroy the future can a time traveling Batman (beyond)." Now simply begin to replace batman with "Can a time-traveling Barry Allen, help a massive cast of the DCU’s finest avert the impending apocalypse caused by the changes to the timeline Eobard Thawn the Reverse Flash set in motion after the eventual survival of Barry's mother? That means season two should be getting heavy doses of influence from the Futures End storyline. For the new as-yet-unnamed show, they are casting characters like HawkGirl, so this gives some credibility to a "massive cast" I digress, now since Harrison wells and Tess Morgan will be the cause of the S.T.A.R. labs explosion in 2020, we should see some new superheroes from older cast members, like Cisco becoming Vibe and Mrs. Katlin snow becoming...

...¬¬¬Production of the Connecting Rod Drop Forged Connecting Rods Connecting rods are most commonly drop forged, firstly a blank steel bar with a rectangular or round cross section, it is heated to around 1300°C and is rolled to redistribute the masses to the larger and smaller ends. The most important part of the process takes place in a hammer unit, the steel rod is placed in a die and after a few consecutive blows of a hammer the steel bar is forced into the shape of the die, giving the connecting rod its shape. Drop forging produces flash around the edges of the connecting rod which is removed, the larger hole and sometimes the smaller hole (in larger connecting rods) are also simultaneously punched in this process. After the flash is removed the connecting rod is heat treated and then machined, the final stage of the process is the separation of the cap from the rod (unless the cap and the rod have been forged separately), this is usually done by sawing but an alternative is to use splitting. Alternative methods of production A newer technology called Sintering is becoming more popular to produce control rods; it begins with the sevrohydraulic pressing of powdered metal in its final alloy, to create a powdered preform of the control rod. Next the preform is heated to around 1120°C in an electrically heated furnace for around 15 minutes, the finished piece is now ready. The reason this technology has not taken the place of the drop forging process is because...

...Intel CEO Grove has quipped that the company bets millions on science fictions. (5) As pressure builds from clone makers and rival systems, engineers are brought together to consider the emerging technological capabilities nd the performance needed to keep ahead of competitors. Intel has also expanded into other areas such as supercomputers, flash memories, video chips, and networking boards. Its sales in these areas are climbing at an average rate of 68 percent per year. (6) It has gained 85 percent of the emerging market for flash memory chips and practically owns one third of the market for massively parallel computers. This experience provides knowledge that Intel can then apply to standard chips, adding features such as video. The second S, strategic soothsaying, is concerned with understanding the future evolution of markets and technology that will proactively create new opportunities to serve existing or new customers. This also contributes to the firm’s vision of where the next advantage will be discovered and where the company should focus its disruption. To act on this vision, companies need two key capabilities: speed and surprise. As in fencing, speed and surprise are key factors in gaining an advantage before competitors are able to do so and in delaying competitor reactions to the new advantages. If two companies recognize the opportunity to create a new advantage at the same time, the company that can create the advantage faster will win. Because success...
