...Introduction There are many ways a systems analyst can go about getting information needed to prepare for a project. Information gathering plays a big part in knowing your customer, their existing system, and what they are looking to accomplish. In the first portion of this assignment, we’ll make some decisions as to how to approach a client, picking an interview structure, and selecting questions for an interview. The second portion of this assignment will cover explaining to a customer why the information gathering technique known as Prototyping is a viable option, and how it can actually aid in users understanding and expressing their own needs. Part 1 – Interviewing the Chief Accountant The first step to approaching an interview is undoubtedly preparation. I would read as much information about the background of the company as I could from any number of sources. Some good suggestions on where I can find some of this information are places such as an annual report, a corporate newsletter, press releases, or even the internet (Kendall and Kendall, 2012). The better prepared I am, the more at ease I will be during the interview. I’m a firm believer that the more intelligently you can speak to someone about their products or company, the more at ease they become with you. For my interview approach, I have decided to use the funnel structure, beginning with some general, open ended questions, and then getting more detailed as the interview progresses. My...

...issues, hedge funds, and natural disasters risks? My ideal career in the insurance industry would be in the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). In order to achieve this goal I need to start in essence at the bottom and work my way up and gain knowledge to help ensure that I do the best I can. There are a few adjuster positions that can assist me in gaining the knowledge that will help me later be a SIU adjuster. Three types of adjuster positions that will help to obtain my goal are: • Liability – The majority of claims are handled in the liability determination unit (LDU), in Texas the average adjuster handles approximately three to five claims a day. These are claims that the liability is unclear and no injuries are present. • Soft-tissue Unrepresented – Claims handled by this unit involve soft-tissue injuries usually caused by low impact accidents, minor auto damages usually under $1500. • Moderate Unrepresented – Claims handled by this unit also involve soft-tissue injuries caused by more severe impact accident with damages between $1500 and $5000. So of all the different careers why did I choose SIU? I chose this career because to me it is interesting, unlike the other adjuster positions listed above, SIU adjusters do not work solely...

...7:48 AM "I need some vodka." My coworker, Marisol, groans as we walk into work together. I laugh, knowing exactly what she means. "I've been in your shoes before boo." "Antonio won't leave me the hell alone. I told him to go fuck himself several times and he won't take the hint," she huffs, folding her arms across her chest. I take off my jacket, folding it neatly so I can put it in my desk drawer. I work the front desk at Magnus's Inc. It's not an ideal job but it pays extremely well, especially since New York is an expensive city to live in. "That's what happens when you give a man too many chances. He thinks you will take him back every time he fucks up." I sit down, booting up the Mac desktop. Marisol leans on the large black desk, very likely...

...Singer and songwriter Ke$ha was born Kesha Rose Sebert on March 1, 1987, in Los Angeles, California. She was exposed to music at an early age through her mother Pebe, a songwriter. Her mother's biggest songwriting success was "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You," which was a hit for Joe Sun and Dolly Parton. The first few years of Kesha's life were a struggle for her family. Her mother had difficulty earning enough to support Kesha and her older brother. "We were on welfare and food stamps," the artist explained on her website. "One of my first memories is my mom telling me, 'If you want something, just take it.'" When she was 4, Kesha moved to Nashville with her family, where her mother had landed a songwriting contract. Sometimes tagging along with her mother, Kesha spent a lot of time in recording studios during her early adolescence. Her mother encouraged her interest in singing, allowing Kesha to work on some of her song demos. Kesha also went to a music school, where she learned about songwriting. Deep in the heart of the country music scene, she was inspired by the likes of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Pursuing a Career in Music At 17, Kesha left high school to pursue a music career. She changed her name to Ke$ha and moved to Los Angeles to work with producer Dr. Luke, who had worked on hit singles for Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson among others. "I thought her voice was distinctive, and I fell in love with her personality," Dr. Luke explained to Entertainment...

...living as a minority, it is empowering to see people of color take action in this hateful world. Productions like Just Like Us represent the Mexican culture in a positive way and encourage people to stand up for what they believe in. The show encompassed slightly stereotypical depictions of how the Hispanic culture is really like using piñatas, Jarritos drinks, parties, and cowboy hats; but it still gets the message across. Flo Perez, the actor who played Ramiro (among other characters), was a strong character in the play. He established his character by making his presence felt on stage. He was loud, charismatic, and comedic. He interacted with all of the characters in the same energy. None of his movements and dialogue was wasted. He was mostly a character who was used for comedic relief, however when Marisela started bringing awareness about immigration policy to the school, his demeanor changed and became angry. His body language became stiffer, his arms moved more aggressively as he pleaded Marisela to stop what she was doing; Flo Perez really made me feel sympathetic towards Ramiro. Lucy, an ignorant and privileged college student, was represented sufficiently by Nicole Gilman. Just Like Us wants its audience to advocate for those individuals without legal documentation, but the show can’t do that efficiently without portraying how people of the opposing party perceive this controversial topic, and this is why Lucy was an important character. At a first glance,...

...Kaitlyn Di’ Flo 2/21/14 Every person has their own unique strengths and/or weaknesses. If everyone had the same strengths as each other then they would not be considered strengths. It is good to have strengths because it allows you to excel at something and be different from other people. Everyone is different in this world because of their personalities and their personal abilities. It is hard to recognize your own strengths because you are so used to it and it becomes a second nature, that’s why it is considered a strength. It becomes an everyday lifestyle to someone and they do not see it as a strength. A strength to someone could be a normal attribute to someone’s everyday life. One of my personal strengths is that I am very independent. I am able to take care of myself because I was raised that way. My parents raised me to be able to take care of myself because one day they will not be there for me and I will be living on my own and need to take care of myself. I learned a lot of things from watching my parents do everyday chores such as cook and clean and doing laundry. My parents are divorced and at a young age I learned to be the woman of the house because I live with my father. He works all day which is hard for him to come home and cook for my siblings and me. I wanted to help my father out as much as possible all while taking care of myself. I enjoy taking care of myself because I do not need to depend on someone else to take care of me. It makes me feel stronger...
