The Florence Symphony Orchestra performed their concert called, Polish-French connection, on October 17th 2016. It was performed at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center in Florence, SC. They are an orchestral ensemble which consists of many string instruments (Violin and Cello), Brass (Trombones and French Horns), woodwinds (Flutes, clarinets, and oboe), the keyboard instruments and the percussion. They performed the works of Frédéric Chopin and his Piano Concerto No.1 in E Minor Op. 11. As well as Camille Saint-Saëns Symphony No.3 in C Minor OP. 78. Overall the musical choice and sounds were marvelous, and the performers themselves played very well and executed the music and sounds of each arrangement and movements perfectly.…show more content… Which was a very powerful and moderately slow piece. That gradually gets more intense and louder throughout the second movement, while the first movement was a very somber and mellow piece. The first movement eventually transitioned to the piano solo; played by Daniel Adam Maltz, his piano solo was very mellow and slow, but a very intriguing piece which had a very fantasy like feel to it. Once the rest of the orchestra had joined in which slowly lead into the second movement, Romanze: Larghetto. The remainder of the arrangement, the piano was a big part of the orchestra as if it is commanding the whole orchestra, and the players are following suite and responding to him. A very intricate piece and very moving, with very powerful movements, and a strong pianist, which allowed for a mellow, strong, and a happy feeling towards this
